Actually, having been in the car this weekend to go to WWoC, I discovered that the circular lines are actually orange and the thick radial line at 7700rpm is red. Rijk |

Just to be a nitpicker about this: There is no red line at 7000 rpm, just the circular red lines start until 7700rpm where there is a redline. In older cars there were always two zones. An orange one and a red zone. Jou could visit the orange zone, but not stay there for a prolonged time and the red zone is off limits. I've interpreted that the red circular lines were the orange zone and the red radial line the real limit. Am I mistaken?????? Rijk |

The diagram in the owner's manual and the photo of Andrew's car show the same thing . . . a red zone from just before 7000 to approximately 7800 rpm. Despite this the text of the manual clearly states maximum permitted rpm to be 7500--see pages 8 and 9 of the manual. Such discrepancies are what make Ferraris so fascinating. |

Hi Gerald, welcome! Thanks guys! I looked in a vintage owner's manual and in the dash diagram it looks like it is redlined at 6,800 or 6,900 but that is just a drawing of course. Jack |

Gerald, Are you sure?, Max power at 7500rpm is correct, but my dial shows clearly 7700 as the redline and not 7500. Rijk |

Gerald! How cool you are on here! I was debating to renew the market letter since I have no plans to buy a car in the near future.... But I would feel silly if I did not renew now! Glad to see you on here, you and Wayne add a little class to the place! Chris |

Owner's manuals clearly states "Maximum permitted rpm 7500." Maximum power at 7500 rpm 352 bhp (SAE net). Maximum road speed in 5th gear 174 mph at 7200 rpm |

Strike that. Max power is at 7500, so my guess must be way off. |

Anybody who can tell me the redline on the tachometer of a 365 GTB/4 Daytona? Thanks. Jack |
