now that is an offer Steve....

Man, I cooked German food yesterday and was in taste heaven. Also went on the scale after 6 months and got a shock! Italy n a few weeks will not help that problem I guess.

Steven,

If you should be in the vicinity of the Rhineland like Bonn or Cologne and perhaps want a lap on the Nürburgring in a 348tb just shoot me a mail or respond via this thread! Would be nice to meet you. At the moment I am quite busy with work but if you can make the one hour drive from Frankfurt to me I would be happy to take you on a ride with my F car on the wild west german Autobahn! :-)

Con saluti cordialissimi,

Martin,

Many thanks for the info. Go to the show every year... this will be my fourth year. Have access to a car, though usually take a taxi into town for fun. Was hoping to meet other FerrariChat folks for fun and dinner at a local restaurant.

Enjoy the Drive,

Steven R. Rochlin

The Kempinsky is BTW not in Neu Isenburg but just outside of Neu Isenburg in Gravenbruch

To get away from there you will need a car BTW.

I will be at the airport in FRA on Saturday the 31st. But will fly down to Milan a few hours later.

Make sure to go to Alt Schachsenhausen. This is a pedestrian area south of the river. Very nice cute bars and lots of driking.
Also try the Appelwein (cider). It is strong but a typical drink for the Frankfurt area. Usually people sit outside in garden bars and enjoy summer evenings. Have your applewein diluted first with sparkling water. Called "Gespritzter". This will make it easy. Since I grew up in Sachsenhausen I can tell you the first one tastes horrible. The second is much better, especially if you are thirsty.

You can get to most places with the local rail and bus system. It is pretty easy to get around. Make sure to get a ticket BEFORE you walk on the tram or bus.

Places to see is the Goethe Haus, the birthplace of Goethe. It is on the Frankfurt side close to the Roemer, also a great site to visit. Next to that you have the Frnakfurt Dome, the cathedral that is pretty famous. It was bombed in the 2nd WW and is completely restored.
There is a great natural historic museum just opposit of the fair grounds.

If you have time and a car you can drive out north to Bad Homburg. On the mountain there is and old Roman fortress that is in pretty good shape. On top of that mountain runs the old Roman wall "Limes" which extended around the Roman empire some 2000 years ago. Pretty impressive if you are into history.

Also a great trip is to take the car and drive West to the vinyards. Saturday/Sunday is a great day for that since most of the vinyard are open to the public and you can buy wine right from the growers. Ruedesheim is nice place to visit but do that tour only if you have excellent weather. Also lots of old castles out there to visit.
\
Nightlife you have a great night club in the Frankfurt TV tower on the observation deck. Called TURM by the locals. I am not sure since they renovated the airport extensively over the past 10 years if the "Dorian Grey" is still at the airport. This is were House and Trance was started at. The birthplace of today's dance music if you will.
My info may be outdated since I have not been there in 10 years.

Wish you have had a little more time there. Great places to visit and great places to eat as well. Trust me I always gain 10 pounds when I go for a few days.

In Sachsenhausen try Handkaese mit Musik. A stinky cheese with chopped onions and oil. hmmmm, yummy!

The place to go for tourists in Sachsenhausen is: "Das Gemalte Haus" on Moerfelder Landstrasse. Locals will go to "Wagner" just next door. Both are the same in quality. Don't be shy to sit on a bench with some other folks. That is the way it is. People get close together.

Geh, have fun Steven. If you want some more info call me.

Hi Everyone,

Will be in Frankfurt from May 29 to June 1 attending a high-end audio show. i KNOW there are at least TWO Ferrari owners who attend this show. Maybe we can have an informal meeting? For details as to where/when, please see http://www.enjoythemusic.com/frankfurt2003/ .
