There's a customer of mine here in Calgary with a 1986 Mondial 3.2 Cabriolet with 81,000 miles. The seat bolster is a little worn.....it's what I call a 20/20 car....it looks great at 20 feet and 20 mph. I also know of a early 80's 308 here with about 150,000 KM.......it was an ex-rental. |

I always like seeing these stories because it means that my old GT4 has a fighting chance to make it 'till next Tuesday. |

Seems like alot of thoes high mile daily drivers run better than the 10 year old cars with less than 30K mi. I bet that 230K 512TR doesn't make any white smoke either. |

Oh that is great to hear. That is just beautiful news. Especially about the TR with 230,000 on the clock. This is how Ferrari's should be driven. |

There is a 512 TR in france with 370 000 kms ( 230 000 miles ) and the car was fresh ! Only the driving seats leather started to show a little use , other than that the car was clean. |

The other week I saw an 80's Mondial with 155,000 miles on it!!!! It was being serviced at Ferrari of Washington....the body was decent, the interior was trashed.....I mean trashed....stuffing and springs coming out of all the seats.........but it had 155000 miles! I talked to the service people and they said that the car is used every day as a daily driver...it's had all of it's services and actually runs very well.......of course we all know that whatever this guy has paid for in repair bills/services, he probably easily could have purchased a newer car. But it was really cool to see, and everyone there said the car was 100% mechanically sound.....can't say that much about the seats!! Kind of cool! |
