Just got mine back from its annual service with new Pzero's and measured it, 5 inches, but it is a challenge car and yes, it scrapes on large ants. |

That measurement of 40.15" is to the tip of the front bumper. It is only 36" from center wheel to the tip of the spoiler. That is what mine physically measures. My previous measurement of 35" was eyeballed, I took a more precise measurement tonight and got the 36".

1020mm = 40.16". The only way you will know for sure is to try it.Note that the lip of the spoiler is NOT the lowest point on the front end, so you can clear a 6" obstruction at the lip and still bottom it out, but that wouldn't be a problem in a driveway situation. |

As usual guys, thanks for the input. If the 348 is 6" as stated, I should have no problem. I will have to measure the center wheels to front end on my friends 550. If anyone has info on the 348 center of wheel to front end that would be helpful. Thanks again. |

my 94 348 GTS overhang is the problem, I scrape it every single day and can only get out of my drive in reverse. |

So if you assume that the 348 and the 550 have approximately the same clearance from the nose to the ground (6"), and the 550 has more front overhang (I think), and the 550 made it OK, then the 348 should make it OK as well, unless it has been lowered, or you hit it too fast. But believe me, you ARE going to scape the spoiler from time to time. I took my 348 out this evening, and it bottomed on a tight, bumpy corner at reasonable speed. What does the spoiler look like on the car you are getting soon? |

My 348 spider has been lowered. Clearance is 4.75" at the low point of the speciale spoiler lip. A pain in the butt anywhere there is even a slight slope. |

Check out http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/112/195709.html for some info about 348 front spoilers. Mine, which has been raised (see picture of white car in thread) measures 6 7/8" off the ground, and still bottoms from time to time. |

Front end overhang my also be a problem. From center of front wheel to the front of the car measures about 2' 11". If the 550 if shorter you still may not be in the clear. |

6" would work, because the 550 I tested on my driveway was 6" as well. I was under the impression that the 348 wast 5.5". But if you are correct which I am sure you are, that would be great. Thanks for the info. |

I don't know... it was formerly a challenge car, so to the 1994 challenge specs.... probably just cleared the "coke can" test. I'm sure you'll be fine with most driveways, as long as you enter/exit at an angle. |

So your's is approx. 3.5". Wow that would be a pretty tight fit for me. Do you know how much your car was lowered? |

I am getting a 1991 348ts next week, however I am not sure if its going to fit up my driveway. I borrowed a friends 550 last week to try and it just made it by about the thickness of two fingers or less. The 550 measured approx. 6" from the ground to the bottom of the nose. Does anyone know the exact dimensions of a 348. Any help is appreciated. |
