Warran,
check with them if the O2s are the same as in the 348 CATs. If they are you can order them direct from Bosch just tell them you have a 1991 348. Ferrari has a deal with Bosch, were Bosch can not sell the O2s in the first 10 years direct to customers, but they have to go through Ferrari. Same with the damn spark plugs. You have to buy a $5 spark plug from NGK for $65 from the F-dealer because NGK can not sell them to you direct.

That cars has 65,000 miles on it and except for oil filters, battery, and tires is virtually !00% original. I'll have it at the Greenwich Concours on May 31. I drive it all the time it's an amazing thing.

Martin,

Thanks for the advice. Jimmy checked my registration and told me the cats were still under warranty. The O2 sensors are not. I don't think it's the sensors though. We'll see what happens.

Warran,
see if the cats are warranty replacements. EPA has regulations for these items to be replaced under warranty. Also take into consideration to replace them with testpipes. $ 350 for a set of pipes will be one tenth of the cost of stupid Cats. After the install you will likely still be able to pass emissions with your car.

My friends and I were there and had a great time! I didn't take my car there because it was just serviced there and it didn't need an inspection. Also we headed into NYC in the afternoon, but traffic was terrible and parking was impossible! Should have stayed in WWoC. I didn't get to meet many people there as I was busy entertaining my friends. Hope I will get to meet more of you in future events. And Warren I hope your estimate comes out lower than expected. The 'waiting period' sucks.

Whart,

can I send you a link privately for your revue and opinion of their "place among the stars"?

Anyway valid questions, concerns and hopefully answers have been expressed here...if some are dazzled by fancy 'flash' sites so be it...or put off by homemade or regular bland sites, so be it...the best advertisment is still " credible reference", because "generally" it's earned, not bought.

JRV-don't mean to hijack the thread, but i'm not talking smoke and mirrors here. Nor hype. In the case of products (granted, services are different), things like cars and houses show better with lots of good, clear photos, and a concise, informative description. Autosport Designs and Symbolic (maybe this proves your point, i don't know) have effective sites. Alot of the dealers might show one pic, and provide only "specs" usually without pricing info.An awful lot of people do preliminary "screening" via the web, so its like not being at the phone when they call, or having somebody give them a poor first impression. End of Tirade.

Jim,

The Duesenberg was unbelievable. What percentage of your car would you say was completely original? The tires for instance, they looked brand new. And the engine looked like an aircraft engine that just came out of the factory.

I'll definitely mention your name next time I speak with Jimmy. I'll tell him that Mr. Glickenhaus sent me with A+ reviews

Dan360,
I know what you are talking about their website but have you gone their recently. They fixed it up a lot.

It is amazing, though, that many businesses still don't realize the importance of a good web site. I'm not talking .com BS here, but just a functional and visual way to sell wares. I've spent a considerable amount of time on real estate web sites lately, and the difference between them is the difference of making a sale.
Wide World is pretty solid, though, as is their service dep't.

Not everyone is savvy and sophisticated enough to be selling Bling Bling...remember there are old guys like them and me that looked up "service" in the dictionary and understood what we read.

There's 2 schools of thought in the car game...Baffle Them with BS & Bling Bling or Dazzle them with Actions.

As they sell more used Ferrari's than anyone in the US they must be doing something right...

I've not been there, but I just checked out their website (following the positive review below).

At this level as a player in the F-car market I would suggest that they spent more than 500$ on their website...

I for one search for cars on the web a lot and even a simple web site is fine if it's neat, but this site is just poor. Not trying to be negative, but for me I would be on to the next dealer when I see this and its something they should fix.

Service manager is Jimmy. Helen is his assistant.
The Duesenberg next to the 333SP you may have seen there is mine. A friend and great collector/driver/club racer owns the Enzo amoung about 30 other great cars. Jimmy/Helen are at ext 3. They service all of my cars and totally restored my MK-IV which is going to Pebble. I was their first service customer. That was over 30 years ago. They rebuilt the transaxel in my 275GTB. I think the bill came to $3,200. That also included hardened valve guides and a full tune.

Dr Ken and JRV,

Thank you very much for your advice! I took my baby into WWOC today. I had a lot of fun. So many F-s including the very beautiful and odd yellow enzo. Does anyone here own that car?

The guys at WWOC were really nice. What a nice service they provide. They don't advertise it too much do they?

Well I got there at 3pm and looked around for 15-20 minutes and then registered. They put it in the garage right away!! Everyone was so nice. Well they hooked it up to the machine and it said Right Cat worn, left Cat Worn, Air Flow meter error. The Manager came out and introduced himself, great guy. He gave me his card, but like a dope I left it in the car (I ended up leaving my f- there). It needs a more thorough check. Some other items they saw were possible oil leak somewhere and possible brake fluid leak.

My friend met me there so I decided to leave the car and he gave me a ride home. WWOC said it would take a couple days to inspect it and they'll give me a call. I'll keep you guys updated.

Mr. Glickenhaus,
I just saw your post so I didn't get a chance to mention your name. Are you a familiar patron of WWOC? I will mention your name when I get the final inspection report. Tell you the truth I'm kinda dreading it.

If its the same as my 2002 360 Coupe - they eventually replaced both ECUs. They thought it was a secondary air system problem (ie this is the system that warms up the system when cold - probably the same as your "bad cats"). But were able to test that there were no problems there - seems like its a software bug which requires new ECUs to be sent from Italy. This was a warranty job for me.

Good luck - it took my dealer several attempts to finally diagnose (with little help from FNA).

Warren, why don't you take your car to WWoC tomorrow (sunday) for their annual tech day (10-4pm). They will provide a free inspection.

Hey Guys,

Need some help here. I was having the best time today cruising around N.J. Beautiful day, said hi to a 360 spider, car sounded beautiful and was behaving perfectly and then the Check Engine light came on again. You guys probably don't remember but this is the 3rd time. I gotta take it to an authorized F- mechanic now. The last time it did this someone did me a favor and hooked it up to the F- computer and it came up with Bad Cats. But then the light went off. But now its back so it's going into the shop.

Where should I take it?? I'm close to Wide World of Cars and also pretty close to Greenwich CT.

I'm leaning towards WWOC because its closer. Anyone know any mechanic there I should ask for? Who should I say sent me? OR if there is somewhere else I should go let me know. This check engine light thing is going to bother me a lot.

By the way, anyone here have a black 355B that they were driving around Hackensack last night?

Thanks in advance.
