1) 355 nose is longer than 360 I believe, the 360 will have less "rub" problems than the 355.

2) Saw my first 360 with a sunroof this past weekend. It was sitting alongside several 360 coupes and spiders. I loved it as I said in my other thread! I think it looks just awesome, I like the spider too and would get one if the money, but a coupe with the sunroof I think is the best bang for the buck. The sunroof 360 won 1st in it's class, just had a very sexy look and rarity about it.

Ed:

The answer is partially. I had just gotten a 30k service before. That cost about 7k. After the fire, I completely re-did the 30k, put all new cables in, new water pump, new seals on the cam shafts, new motor mounts, and of course new wiring. Since the paint wasn't damaged, this amounted to a complete external engine compartment rebuilt. Prior to that I put in new CATS, new manifolds, etc. I paid about 1/2 of the 30k, and insurance carrier the balance.

Bottom line, in the engine compartment, literally everything is new outside of the eninge.

Art,
Wasn't the $30k spent a result of an accident or fire? I thought you had some bad luck awhile ago w/ your Ferrari.

"I've spent about 30k on it in the last 12 months, and its about as good as you can get in these cars. It needs the usual cosmetic stuff: wheels and nose touch up, but otherwise pretty much flawless"

I'm speechless! To be able to sink in that much in 12 months and it still needs more stuff putting right, what was it 12 months ago, a rolling shed!

Oregon registration is cheap, but Beware! They are trying to crack down on this, and don't tolerate phoney address, etc.

For example, a prominent motor home dealer recently got fined $7Mill for selling a small plot in a MH park as part of the sale of the motor home to out of state residents - so they could show a local address for registration. Didn't fly.

Using relatives address usually won't work either.

I seem to remember that, when word of the 360 first got out, there were reports in a number of magazines that stated that the sunroof would be standard on all 360 coupes. Obviously they changed their minds. It just goes to show that all the rumors we hear about the 360 replacement are truly rumors until the cars are actually in production.

Oregon has no sales tax, registration fees about 200 per year, I'm told. Could be a little net savings?

I'm selling the 355, or trading it in. I've spent about 30k on it in the last 12 months, and its about as good as you can get in these cars. It needs the usual cosmetic stuff: wheels and nose touch up, but otherwise pretty much flawless.

Vincent, when I get it, you'll be the first to get a ride, after Diane.

The sunroof will make the car unique. Will it make it more desirable as a collector car? Who knows? I think the flying buttresses and the roll hoops behind the seats in the 360 spider make it look like a targa anyway.

Ron, it was all about the driving. We saved the car talk for lunch.

Arthur,
I glad to see someone was interested in the sunroof option.. I knew of that option since day one, but haven't seen anyone with one yet.. Cool.:-)
I think they didn't mak a TS version because the sale for the Targa 355 were not as hot. So they eliminated it for the 360..
I don't think construction had anything to do with it either.. Remember, That chassis was originally designed for the spyder first and the coupe was built around the spyder chassis..

Kuzi,
I love the gathering photos.. Did you guys all go out for a drive after, or stand around and talked car stuff...

Because of the construction, they can't make a TS version. This is the best that they can do. Almost a TS. If you look at the new Tara, you see that Porsche had the same problem.

My driveway is very tight for the 355, and I was concerned that the 360 that is coming wouldn't fit. FofSF was kind enough to let me use a 360 until monday to check it out. It fits1. Great car, much more civilized than my 355, but is it fast....
