Dave - LOL! I bet you there is a story posted on the Corvette boards somewhere about this encounter with the "C6". How could one make such a mistake??? |

Had a guy tell me recently (while refueling my 550) that he really liked that new C6 Corvette I was driving, and that he didn;t know they were out yet. I decided to play with him, and told him, "Shhh!! It's a final preproduction prototype doing a cross-country shakedown run!" He thsn asked me what engine I had in it, and I truthfully told him, "It's the V-12." He raised his eyebrows and walked away, whistling. Clearly, he was very impressed. |

This is a funny thread... Frank, if i were with you, at 'the counter' when you said that, i would've completely blown your cover by laughing hysterically... That's too funny... When i was in 8th grade, i was dating a lovely young lady (the sister of a world record holder, coincidentally) who was talking to her friend one day, whilst i was at her house... i'l assume her friend asked her what kind of car my father drove, 'cause she said, "A Ferrari", then turned to me to confirm that with, "Your dad drives a Ferrari, right...?" "Noooooo!" i replied as i lamented recognizing the truth, but then sputtered it aloud, "he drives a Firebird..." Sigh. |

Mark, the guy at the 7-11 calls mine a Porsche all the time. Fred's right--it would make a nice Porsche... |

On the way to my beach house last summer I was in a small NW Florida town to get gas for my ex-348 Spider. The girl at the counter wanted to know if it was the new Mustang. I guess she saw the prancing horse and thought it was the Mustang pony. I told her no that it was a Dino and that the Mustang was much faster. |

A fellow F- Chatter posted a story on this board once about his 360 being mistaken as a ford mustang. It was a great story, I'll never forget it. Speaking of which the future mustang that I saw at the Javert Center looked great! |

Deciding I wanted some good Mexican food this weekend I took the 308 on a 2 day road trip to Albuquerque. While letting it warm up outside my Motel entrance, an older European man looked at it and exclaimed: "nice Porsche!". I told him it was a Ferrari and he replied: "AH! Schumacher!" Never been mistaken for a Porsche before ..... |
