I would have taken the Roadster as well. Besides that this is the only Diablo I can fit in, the open air is just great. The added HP is no trade off for open air driving. MHO

I haven't had the opportunity to take the pics for inside and engine compartment yet but I did find out why filling the gas was hard, I called Al Burtoni and they said that the vent tube could be clogged so that the pressure from filling the gas causes the pump to stop filling so I'm gonna check that out soon. It's raining here so I gotta wait for it to clear up before the next drive. I didn't get the 6.0 for a couple of reasons, one I like open air driving and two the roadsters hold more value than 6.0. Although I do like the 6.0 interior better. I'm gonna change out all the driving and fog lamps on the lower part of the car to enhance nighttime visual and also appearance. I'll keep you guys up to date on that..

NICE looking car by the way! I like the SV better, but that color is the best. It's hard to top an open air car!

Have you figured out how to fill her up yet? ;) Here is a tip, and while it sure looks dumb standing there with your Diablo at the gas station, you get used to it lol.

Hold the pump upside down.

Is it me, or do the rims on the front look different from the ones on the back? Either way, congrats on your new car, looks great!

I suppose there's nothing quite like a Lamborghini for turning heads.
Although I personally would have bought a 6.0/GT/SV for the money I must congratulate you on your purchase Modman. What a crazy crazy car. And what excellent colour choice!

Thanks for all your great comments, I will take some more pics of the interior and engine compartment, lots of carbon fiber used throughout the vechicle - saves me the time doing fabrication although the dash part where the gauges are is going to be made of carbon fiber which will be a blue and black carbon weave 4 sheets thick which will replace the metal plates, when this gets finished I'll show the before and after pics. Thanks for the pics Martin, I love seeing car show pics. Kenny, I don't mind if you want to post the pics. I am going to transform this car slightly and will let you fellas know on the updates with this car. I'll post some more pics later today....

Here's a couple more pics. Took the car out for a drive today and it was a sure attention getter, people turning heads while driving kinda like the exorcist spinning their heads around - man it's an awesome feeling around here since you don't see hardly any exotics driving around the area. When I drove the Ferrari around it was almost invisible but this car shows it's presence. It's neat how you can lift the front end of the car by push of a button so you don't hit the lower part of the car against the curb. Nice telescoping steering wheel and great Alpine factory stereo system with 10" sub behing driver seat and it pumps out loud and clear considering how small the box is but I'm gonna upgrade the mid's and high's to Focals and beef up the amplifier. The clutch system is too soft for me so I have to get used to it but shifting is smooth, engine growls like a muscle car and the mechanicals of the engine sounds like of a Porsche but magnified, but I much like the Ferrari engine sound 5x's better with a Tubi of course. Looking at the maintenace manual it seems to be pretty easy to follow and you know what, no timing belt to worry about. I talked to Al Burtoni and he said it is just as reliable if not more than Ferrari. The reason for all the horror stories of problems is probably bad maintenance and the operator of the vehicle. I'll let you know how many miles I put on it as we go on, so far I have approx. 700 miles on it in less than 3 days. Can't wait till next weekend. Don't get me wrong, I love the Ferrari but you have to drive one of these to understand how your feelings differ, one day I wanna cruise so I take the Diablo, one day I wanna track so I take the Ferrari. I really do appreciate the strong comments of helping me make the decision to just go and do it and you know what, it's worth it! If you can any way be able to afford one of these toys and believe me I am not even close to being wealthy either, just love my hobby, well you know what to do..... peace ....

Modman,

First off, Congrats on the great car. I know that one of the owners of the Sac Kings owned a blue Roadster similar to that. Any connection?

Regards,
Ryan

It's Sunday and I'm going to wash up the car and go for a spin, I'll post some more pics with some better shots of it. Oh, and Andrew it's a 99, first year with non pop up headlights ( I installed HID's in it, gotta have it ) and the last year of the roadster. As far as driving it, it is more of a grand touring car and is comfortable cruising in it, nice large armrest at a good level and you can see the road in front, left and right. I drive the car with the top off always so I can see a little better behind me- putting the top on the back of the engine compartment loses some visibility. Power is not as responsive as the Ferrari but once you get in 2nd gear and romp on it, the power kicks in after a second later and you feel it pulling effortlessly towards 100mph. I haven't top gun it yet and can't say I plan on doing it anytime soon but when I hit the tracks, you bet I will. I'll post back later today and tell you what I experienced with this car and I'll post some more pics of it.... Peace....

Nice, I like the color too, Welcome to the Lambo Owners Group :-) I once drove my 86 Countach 5000QV from Reno to SF in 2 hours 15 minutes, most people take like 4 hours :-) Could have made it in 1 hour 30 or so but I had to stop for gas 5 times LOL

Looks like a newer model. Maybe 98+? By the way Modman, I've driven both the F355 and the SV Diablo, and I have the same comments. The F355 handles and responses better. But the Lambo rules when it comes to straight lines. Anyway, congrats on your new ride. She turns heads everywhere, doesnt she?

I appreciated the comments some of you fellas made to break my 50-50 decision, in mind I just said Ahh heck, bought it and just drove it home two days ago and the car drove smooth and to my surprise with the top on, there is no air leak sound which I have problems with my 348. Driving this car gives you a feeling you have to experience on your own, much different than a coupe. But I must say that the Ferrari handles and responses better overall but the looks by far is awesome. I drove approx. 500 miles so far with no problems except it is hard to fill gas without the pump stopping every 10 seconds from I guess back pressure. Love the car so far...pics
