The article gave a good feel for the car's acceleration and braking, but didn't mention anything about the handling or the ride.

Am I correct in assuming that as a Le Mans racer, it handles great and has a so-so ride? Any info? Could you get Jim to post his thoughts here (or perhaps could you relay them) by any chance? That would be a treat!

Rgds,
Faisal.

Yes. I made him stand by it and take a photo. This kind of thing needs to be documented. For comedy sake, anyway. We were joking about what Pierre Bardinon would think of a crown jewel of his Castle-Museum-Collection, in such a place.

But in all seriousness the car, Jim is very careful with the car. He drives it, yes, and IMHO the car is much better for it. And it is running flawlessly and is much more sorted out than when he got it.

Nice story John!

I heard that right after Jim got the 330TRi/LM he drove it over to the Cracker Barrel in Slidell to grab some food. I think I heard that he was there with someone with a Viper and a Porsche.(were you there by any chance?)

Anyway, I think he was letting a few people take pics of the car in front of the restaurant. Class act!

Funny story:

I was with Jim Spiro when the BBC guys were in town to do a story on his car. I'm telling Jim, hey lets take a drive to Emerils or another really fancy place. Jim shakes his head. "Nah, let just drive our normal road, there's a truckstop along the way"

It was really funny because here is this big camera crew flying all the way from London to interview Jim who paid 6.5M for this thing, and Jim does his interview in this dumpy truckstop, with the TR outside!

But thats Jim for you. Just enjoys the car, and has no desire to show off. Kind of ironic if you think about it. A guy who buys a 6.5M car that wishes to avoid being veiwed as a show off. Ironic in a good way.

But you had to be there to see the puzzeled faces of the truckstop employees who for the life of them could not figure out what the hell was going on.
