If you have room keep them. You can always sell them later, if you sell the car. However, if the rotors aren't useable, I would dump them. |

Keep em. You never know. When I first bought my 308 the first thing I did was throw away all the junk tools in the kit and replaced them with decent quality tools. Now I have probably spent $1,000.00 buying old partial tool kits just to get the original assortment back together for concours. I had no idea at the time how important the original tools were, and never ever dreamed that someday I would be showing the car. KEEP EM! |

All parts I have taken off my car (switches that can be fixed, mirrors, car alarms, etc), I post on FCat to see who needs them at no charge. You will probably need a part someday that somebody here will give to you! |

Henry, I have every single part that came off my car. I keep all the old part in a baggie, mark the baggie when the part was replaced, and stick it in a box. Even old sparkplugs and extenders! |

Omar- Hard to tell because I had a huge misfire with my old distibutors that didn't allow me to rev more than 4500rpm. I would say there was a slight increase. The start up and drivability were greatly enhanced though. I think I also get better mileage. |

slight bolt-ons, like say an intake, sure. But an Electromotive, seats, etc. I say the car is being blanket improved, no need to keep older parts. BTW; why ever sell? ;) Best! Ben. |

Like Ken, I sell the old stuff to keep the garage clean and pay for the cool new stuff, but with my car, there really isn't anyway to "bolt" it back to stock. It you've only done a few minor bolt-ons, keeping the old is probably in your best interest price wise....although taking the money now many work out better in the long run even thought the car sell for a little less. Flip a coin I guess. |

It depends on the car. You should probably keep stuff from any Ferrari older than a 308 GT4, but old 308 parts are junk or EBay fodder. I sell all my old stuff that has value so I can afford to buy new stuff. Keeps the garage cleaner too! |

Henry, You may get lots of different answers on that. I have replaced the cats with Tubi test pipes and the exhaust with a Tubi. Then I replaced the black cavalino in the back with a chrome one. I kept all parts just in case some potential buyer in the future wants to tell me that the car is worth less due to the fact that it is not original. If I look at what prices the double can stock exhaust for a 348 goes at ebay (around 100-200) I would never sell it. As well as the used cats. I dont sell my original parts for some 100. I rather keep them. This attitude becomes more and more evident the older the cars are because there you get into this "original, concours" bla bla. I dont care that much about that but perhaps future buyers will. Just my two cents... Con saluti cordialissimi, Jens Haller |

I was wondering the same. I just replaced my fans and was thinking of ebaying the old ones. |

My 308 is a '78 GTS. I've done quite a few modifications (electromotive ignition, 16" wheels, electric Turbo mirrors, seats, exhaust, etc) to it. Would you recommend keeping all the original parts for resale value? I have kept them all so that I can always go back to stock when/if I want. I don't think the prices of our cars will ever be like they were in the late 80's/early 90's, but who knows. The car is in excellent condition but has 94k miles. What do you all think? If you want to see pix of my car see my profile or more pix are at www.ferrari308.com What do you think my original distributors with caps and rotors are worth? |
