I emailed the guy twice about the tranny.

First email sent: "Does it have a new tranny?"

Answer: "Yes it does"

Second email: " Why would a car with only 15K need a new tranny?"

Answer: "It was old"

You would think that someone selling a car for 40K+ would elaborate a little on the tranny.

Looking at this report I know some of the places it has been. It appears to have been flipped around between dealers a little. Probably more on the back of the current title assignement. I'd want a ppi and see car and title before I would buy it.

Short mileage years may not be a bad flag. It could fall into the same scenario as mine. The two previous owners bought the 348 thinking that is what they wanted only to find that the 355 was really where they wanted to be. Neither of them held the car long and neither put that many miles on it. My car has been very good for over 1000 miles now and I have no reason to think it is going to give me any problems.

Still some history would be nice either written or orally.

Very strange!

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
If my photographic memory serves me correctly, this car is on ebay for a while. Last time a buyer met the reserve price at $50k, but for some reason did not go through with the deal and no explanation was provided. Something smells fishy.

I've never heard of 348s being mechanically unsound. Engine and tranny have always been good. With 348s it's the electronic gremlins (bad connectors being the biggest culprit) and melting dashboard components (which is easily fixed with a little scrubing and black paint).

I've never seen trannys or engines on the list of 348 problems.

This 348 is listed as having only 15,000 miles, yet it has a new transmission. The seller says the tranny is new. Were these bad in 1991?
