Matt, this was at Wide World Of Cars - James Glickenhaus, himself, gave me the heads up on the event and invited me... Unfortunately, i didn't get to hear the Enzo, but i did hear the F50 & the GT40 - WHOOOOO...! The sounds, they were incredible... If i concentrate, when no one else is around and it's quiet, i can still here it... It was intense... |

i would definitely have to take this car in black. Black exterior, black interior, black piping - maybe even black wheels...! Don't get me wrong, i would take the car if it were brown with purple polka dots, but black on black is just what i would prefer... |

I think the black is smoking too. But I have to say, the yellow really shows off those beautiful body lines better than either the red or the black. |

Hey Just to make everyone jealous I actually drove one at LeMans during the 24 Hour Test day (May4-5). I got to do two "laps" of the track (not all of it as part of it was blocked off) in a red Enzo. Didn't go too fast but enjoyed every second of it. I have been promised a real ride in one around the track come the week of the 24 Hrs of LeMans. Heh-Heh-Heh.

The dealer right across from where I work (Lake Forest Sportscars) has a pristine red Enzo with red interior sitting on the floor. It was delivered a few weeks back and I was there when the new owner arrived to take delivery. He is kind enough to let LFSC keep it around for a while... Stopped by after lunch today and started talking about the incredible build quality on the car. Next thing you know we're peering into the engine compartment looking at the beautiful welds on the main structural member back near the exhaust. The welds stack on top of one another just like a bunch of dimes... like you might see in an aero application or superbike or the like... just beautiful workmanship. So the driver door gets opened and we're talking about how the cockpit doesn't get all the engine vibration that the F50 got, and I boldly asked if I could sit in it. Thinking he'd reject me, I asked with a smile on my face. He said "sure." Interior is very cozy and feels so much more refined that I would have thought. Smells of leather. Steering wheel seems to sit very high, but I'm sure it adjusts down. Very easy to get in and out. I sat in it for about a minute, but didn't want to outlast my welcome. Even though its carbon fiber in there, the finish of the carbon fiber is glass smooth, so it still feels very refined -- much more so than an F40, for example, that has more course carbon fiber, and the "wire" door opener. Bolstering on the seat makes it real comfy. I guess the seat I sat in is an XL, but I'm 5-9 155 lbs and it seemed to fit me just right. He said the owner tried all sizes and really couldn't feel a difference, so he went XL to be safe. Sure would have liked to press that big ol' red START button! If you live anywhere near Chicago, take a drive by LFSC. They are a class act all the way! Really nice guys, with a big red carbon fiber jewel in their window with a black one on the way soon. |
