Mitch, yes the 355 is great looking! I actually updated my 348 to look like a 355 (front and side). But notice I said "contemporary" as in "available brandnew"... please no flames from 360 and 550 owners... everyone is entitled to his own taste/opinion.

"Why can't Ferrari have a contemporary car that looks as good or better than this?" They did, it was called the F355! |

Since we're a bit OT, here some shots from this year's car show in Chicago: I rarely take pictures of non Ferraris, but this one was just too cool to pass by.

Doc, you're right, you DO look like you're having a blast - are you sure there was coffee in the other cup...? There's a picture of me in the reflection of the trunk of the blue 330, in one of the other WWOC threads... It's the picture of the back of the car, where you can see where it says "Ferrari 330"... |

DES got me again! Last picture, red jacket (Note: I was having such a good time on one hand I was holding wine, another hand coffee to counter the effect of alcohol....j/k). Anyone else care to identify themselves so we know what/how you look like? And is there a picture of DES somewhere? If not I think DES should post a picture. |

Patrick There are two fuel cells that hold about 45 gallons total. They are on either side of the cockpit. The fuel pumps, as is the windshield wiper, are from a Boeing 707. The transaxle is a Ford built T44 with toploader innards. It is fully syncro, very robust, and very easy to shift. BTW the dent on the top of the fuel cell (11th photo from the top) is from when Bruce McLaren thru down his helmut and set off after the tail section which had blown off on the Mulsanne on that June day in 1967 at LeMans. Patrick, That is the fuel tank. There are two of them, one on each side.

James,I know the owner of a replica MK2,but this is truly amazing! How do you shift gears in that thing? the gates look so close together, and are in an odd spot. Are those the fuel tanks right beside the driver side under the door? |

"An old Viper"! LOL Next time someone asks me if my Europa is an El Camino, I hope I can be as cool as Mr. Glickenhaus! I've been asked if it's a Pontiac, Mustang, old Corvette....I'm always polite but I should have more humor than I do. I'll remeber that, thanks! |

What an intense car... Jim is one of those rare people (like EFWUN & Billy Zisis) who doesn't just stand there and give you one-word answers to your questions... He takes the initiative to answer questions you don't even know to ask... He spent a considerable amount of time talking to me about his car, some of the history behind it and he never sighed a heavy breath, no matter how silly or simple my questions were... When i first got there, i went about the lots, taking pictures, wondering if he had already gone for the day; his car was there, but that didn't necessarily mean he still was. Finally, i asked one of the gentleman if Mr. Glickenhaus was still here and he said he was and pointed him out to me. He happened to be standing by his MK IV, talking to someone else about it. i walked over and was looking at the car, when his conversation with the other gentleman ended. i waited a second then turned to him and said, "What is this, an old Viper...?" That didn't even phase him... Some people would get bent out of shape over a comment like that but he didn't miss a beat; he just started to explain what it was; i interrupted him and told him who i was and that began our in-depth conversation about the MK IV and the Dusenberg... Mr. G., thanks again, i had a great time; i really appreciate everything... Mr. G. showed me just about every aspect of the car and i got some really up close and personal shots of it; learned a lot in the process... The best part, of course, is when he started it up to leave... He lit up the entire place... Everyone just stopped... It's not like anything i've ever heard before... It's LOUD with a very deep rumble... You could hear the scattering of Mustangs for miles... Not an easily forgettable experience, by any means.
