Hey Taek, the car is all Comptech equipted with Paxton supercharger at only 4lb. boost putting a solid 289HP at the wheels, I am going to add an aftercooler to put 300HP at the wheels. I believe on the Sept. issue of Car and Driver coming up this year you'll see what exactly my car is as it beat out the other modded cars in just about all categories. I bought this car just for toying around and it makes a great commuter and it zips in and out of traffic and very easy to maneuver. I like the looks of the car and as I said before there was no other car in it's class that I even considered buying, not even an M roadster, I thought the car was too ugly for my taste, looks like a clowns shoe. A guy I know has an M Roadster who drove my car and immediately asked me if I wanted to trade, obvious answer, NO! I had an M car before but never did anything for me, a car has to please me to my tastes and I understand everyones tastes is different so I can't tell you which car is the best car for anyone as all that matters to me is what's best for me. As always I never leave a car alone and leave it stock as there is always room for improvement weather performance of power, sound, lights, cosmetics, etc. STOCK SUCKS! stock means "settle for" or "as is" there is always room for improvement no matter how much a car cost. If you're a person who is satisfied with stock you haven't experienced the next level, it is part of my business so I would know.

That S2000 is fun.

Although I do have a preference for BMW's, I have to admit I might pick the S2000 just because it's so much fun. It's like a motorcycle on four wheels.

Modman, what did you do to that car? Looks like you just upped it's fun quotient quite a bit!

Cheers

What I didn't like about the M Roadster was the lousy two tone plastic dash. As far as chassis goes, I put it on the track at Summit Point, Lime Rock and Pocono Speedway. Whether in the twisties, the high bank of the tri-oval or on rolling straights, it outperformed my expectations and a good many more expensive and more "race" prepared cars. It wasn't my old 95 M3 lightweight, but it gave a good accounting of itself.

Again, I painted all S2K owners in an unfavorable color (pink?) and did not mean to say the car was only owned by Asian's males with "fart cans" (clever, I'll use that sometime)for exhaust tips. My apologies are sincere.

As for the cost difference - What's $5 to $7K if it means the difference between getting something you love to drive everyday and at the track vs something you can't really appreciate until you open it wide up?

Keith -

Such hostility. Take a chill pill brother. Not that there's anything wrong with it but many of us S2K owners/enthusiasts actually aren't young Asian males with fart tipped exhausts.

I seriously considered the 240bhp M roadster when I bought my 2001 S. The motor was awesome. No too ways around it. I couldn't help but smile when I drove that car. It had all the power I could use on a public road and sounded awesome.

But to call that car "in the same price range" at a more than 20% premium is a bit of a stretch. Moreover, while the M has more amenities (heated seats, blah blah) it is nowhere near as visceral to drive, the chassis is nowhere near as good, and the build quality pales in comparsion. But yes, I believe that in 99% of public road driving conditions, I'd be faster in an M roadster than I would in an S. So what? I have more fun in my S and am mature enough not to get my panties in a bunch about it.

And FWIW, I'm sure the 315bhp M roadster is even more fun to drive and faster on the public roads (and probably the track). But again, it was even more expensive and had many of the same issues.

My apologies if I have painted with too broad a brush. For what it's worth, I recently sold the M Roadster. Primarily because I had too many HondaNissanToyotaMazda kids doing foolish things on the road in a vain effort to "race" me and others with sporting cars. Gave me a poor outlook on the state of these owners. Once again, my apologies if I've offended the underserving.

I don't understand why people like you have to put down other people's choices in cars. You had four posts below you of people praising their s2k and you felt you should try to burst our bubble by saying what you own is best. Why is that?

Perhaps we don't read one another. Check the performance stats on both cars, compare world class European styling with another abomination from Honda design, drive both cars. Then ask yourself one question, "Does the word "whoop" apply?" If still confused check yourself for backward hat, underage Asian girls, and rap cd's. May clarify my point?

M Roadster whoops S2K every time and I never had to wear my hat backwards to fit in driving it. If you like torque, and want something in the same price range (high end), buy an M Roadster. If you don't mind revving to 6k to find the guts of your motor.... 2 Fast + 2 Furious = 4getaboutit.

My partial daily driver is an S2000 with potent power underneath the hood, I use it for all types of driving. I feel carefree with the car and it can take a beating unlike my other cars before it. 9k redline is amazing and a lot of HP for such a small motor. The best Honda made next to the NSX. The performance and looks is what drew me to buy it and for the money I could not think of another car worth considering for what I was looking for.UploadUpload

I'm surprised that anyone is getting their knickers in a twist over an AOL poll.

Who really gives a rip? To each his own so long as you enjoy what you've got.

And btw - whoever ripped on my beloved S2K gets my thumbs down. Show me a more visceral new convertible for anything within 20% of its MSRP and I'll allow you that snide comment without further ado. Otherwise I'll dismiss your comments as the mindless dribble it appears to be.

Exotic cars are chosen for it's looks first so this should be most factual, 2nd would be it's performance and as I said before if you buy an expensive good looking car for the most part it will come with a good performance package. I buy certain types of cars for different driving moods. As far as the polls go I believe the choice came by mostly for it's looks, most of them don't even own any one of the chioces voted on. I'm not hearing too much sense from a lot of comments here as when I was young I dreamed of owning a few cars and the 2 top cars were Ferrari and Lambo, am I wrong for what I had chosen? When you love cars you will want to know some facts on them due to the love for them. When I was young I knew more of the cars than most adults 2 to 3 times my age when I was 14 so don't rule out the younger generation as some of them may end up with more than you can dream of owning and experiencing what you only can wish for. You're going to get negative remarks on just about every car made so one should buy cars for what it does for him or her. Actually a practical car for the road would not be an exotic sports car. Now if it was a vote of you can have only one car to drive for practicality it wouldn't be an expensive sports car. Hope this brings some sense for those who don't..... keep it real....

You mean to tell me that a car built by VW Group and designed by a Belgian is more appealing to you than the Enzo Ferrari? I hate to say it, but I agree. Ferraris Formula 1 incarnation leaves me a little flat, appearance wise. Performance is another story, however. 660 ponies in a 2700 lb. car, sounds like a lot of fun.

The Murcielago, like most Ferraris, is a masterpiece in both design and performance. But what the hell do I know..I drive a Dodge. :-)

in allan's defense (although it is pretty clear the boy can take care of himself) the Murci is a sweet car even if it is not everyone's cup of tea. Is it not possible for Fcar owners or fans to simply acknowledge that other cars are indeed great as well?

My 8 year old thinks my Europa is the coolest car ever made. She happens to be right. Lambos are okay for the gold chain gang; there isn't a Ferrari that can compete in that arena and they are happy not to try.

What's the point of going to a Ferrari site and foisting a lambo tirade on us? You're better off selling bacon to the Muslims.

Lets see, when magazines rate Lambos higher, they are wrong. When Aol takes a poll, they are all 14 year old boys, and they are wrong.....

Hmmmm, the excuses grow. Even if it were 14 year old boys, dont you think they would vote for the biggest baddest speedmachine of all? They are the consumers of tommorow.

I don't see what the point is. So a bunch of 14 year old boys think the lambo looks cool. Well, it does! They like Pokemon too but those movies sure suck...anyone who has to use an AOL poll as a benchmark for cars none of the respondents are likely to own is really grasping at straws.

As far as owning a 308qv it is the car I want. I am not out to impress anyone this is the particular model I want. When you purchase a sports car what should matter to you most is that it makes you happy not how impressed other people are by it.
BTW I also figure the SLOW 308 will compliment the TORQUELESS S2000 I am getting.

Even though he's not the sharpest tool in the shed, his comments are quite entertaining and lead to many heated debates.

they are probably basing their decisions on their aesthetic impressions and some numbers from magazines. To me they are different cars with different purposes. I love that lambo, but i cant imagine choosing anything over an enzo. It is pure automotive engineering virtuosity.

The only problem with the Murcielago is you cannot drive it on the road. It is too dangerous. Try to change lanes to the right and you crash.

Did anyone notice the Aol poll today on Supercars? They asked if you could have any supercar which would you choose. Some of the choices were Ferrari Enzo, Ferrari 575, Murcielago, and some others i dont remember. Well, out of 100's of thousands of people, guess which one was #1 by a huge margin? Im sure you guys guessed it..... The Murcielago.

Even i have to disagree though, if both were offered to me for free, id take the Enzo.
If i had to spend my own money, id buy the Murcielago.

But hey, the PEOPLE have spoken!
