you have to add 15% of taxes on $100K which will bring the price to $115K. Furthermore, most of the dealers may not sell the car for $100K. check these websites, http://www.autotrader.ca http://www.autoforum.com http://www.brianjesselferrari.com/ http://www.ferrariquebec.com/ But if you live in Alberta, you can actually save some taxes. If you can import a nice Ferrari from US, IMHO it is worth to do it and save $$$. |

Let's see: 80,000 US price 5,600 PST (7 to 10% depending on the province) 5,600 GST (levied in most of Canada at 7%) 1,300 Shipping (at least--and to round out the math) ----------- 92,500 Add: Purchase costs --------------- Hassle ?? Expense ?? Time ?? Add Conversion costs ??? ----------------- Sounds like after a lot of hassle, you end up saving....um, nothing?! |

Canadian used Ferrari are so expensive compare to US. For example, US 95 F355 GTB costs $75K-$80K Canadian 95 F355 GTB costs $100K I called Canadian Custom and asked about duty on Ferrari. The guy said, there is 6.1% of duty plus PST&GST, and modification. You can modify the car from any Ferrari dealer or even Canadian tire. It seems that you can save lots of $$$, but like Jay mentioned, there will be some hassle to go through. BJ |

Brian, I think there are a lot of really nice cars in Canada already. Why pay the duty for a US car and go through all the hassle? If you are a member of the FCA check the ads, there are always cars for sale. |

Brian, in order to import a car into Canada it must be 15+ years old. You'll have to pay duty and GST on the purchase price. I believe the best advise I could give is to phone Canada Customs or check out their web site. The official Canadian web site is www.ccra.gc.ca from there try to find customs. |

Can any Canadian members share their experiences on importing Ferrari's into Canada? This would be my first Ferrari purchase, probably a 308 although I do like the early 12 cylinder 4 seaters. Any help on what to avoid, where to go to get answers, etc would be appreciated. Brian |
