Fair price is what ever your willing to pay for it! Most owners think thier car is worth more than it is. |

Jon, You've got mail. A long winded way I came up with for the mileage question.

Jon, I think that's a decent price for the car you are looking at, considering the 30k w/ belts was done, and as you described the condition of it. I don't think a 348 should bring $75-80k, since 355 prices aren't too far away from that. IMO, a decent 348 spider should sell in the 60's, high or low depending upon condition, service, etc... so I think Jon is paying a fair price. |

Jon, There's a '94 348 spider (one past owner, 21K miles, recent major, $69,900) at Steve Harris Imports. Website is ferrarisales.com and you'll see a lot of high-resolution pictures. I see you live in NJ but don't let the dealer's location (Salt Lake City) shy you away from this car. A lot of guys on this site, including me, has had excellent first hand experience with this dealer. Contact Sean Harris (the owner). I'd say you didn't really try your best look around if you don't try Steve Harris'. Regards, Ron |

Is there a depreciation rule of thumb that assigns a dollar value per mile when comparing the same car. For example this 348 spider I am looking at with 15,000 miles to the same car with 30,000 miles. Is the car with 30k worth $15,000 dollars less or $7500. The car I am considering was negot. to &66,500. Is that a fair price? |

Per Rob Lay on 2/17/03, 348 ts, $46K-54K. Per Ferrari Mkt. Ltr. (I printed out 3/4/03), 348 spider $75173. The way I understand it, both these values are for 348's in general, so probably need to be adjusted for year. FML's price is asking price, so selling prices are (normally) substantially lower. |

IMHO a perfect car with clean history...both ownership and maintenance would be $75 to $80k. You can get a 355 for a little over $80k these days and the 355 is another planet compared to a 348 (apologies to all 348 owners). But if you're on a budget and you gotta have a Spider, then the 348 would be an excellent buy at the above price. |

I am looking at a 1994 348 sider red/tan with 14,900 miles. The car is in excellent shape, has a small wheel rash on back tire. 30k service with belts was done in February 2002. What do you guys think would be a fair price for this car? |
