Hans - Yes, two of them. Both spiders. One is a real groovy 70's lime-green and the other is white with a red interior. It's like driving a little car with a lawnmower engine.

Jack, no not the booster, the girling master. They sleeved it of course, however when they reassembled the master using a different piston of the wrong lenght it ever so slightly covered the return hole in the top, the brakes would bleed fine and work fine until the fluid would start warming up, as the fluid got hotter and expanded it couldn't escape back up the return hole so the brakes would slowly but surely start locking up on their own, of course I thought I had the rod a little to long....took me 3 times pulling the Master and adjusting the booster rod before I was certian it was something in the Master itself and upon extreme inspection finally found their f^^kup and fixed it by modifying the return hole on the cylinder body itself.

Lesson learned...check their work 'very carefully'...they ain't all that swift or they're not checking their own work and being careful.

But who else are you going to use on the old stuff to get them sleeved and rebuilt?

Rob..I bought the fan type toggle switch (I assume that is what you are after) at Ferrari of SF in Mill Valley. the P/N is 60053709 and it was $46.35. I thought that was probably a fair price. I also heard that Fiat uses the same switch, but I did not check it out. If this is the correct part you are after, you can give them a call at (415) 380-9700.

1) center console toggle switches
2) door latches

I always check Fiat and Alfa catalogs for misc. parts before asking for the Ferrari version. SOOOOOOOO many parts on our 308's are straight from the Fiat parts bin. Same exact brand/part, just a lot less $$.
For example, I have an 82 Alfa Spider Veloce with power windows. The switches are the SAME as my 84 308. I don't mean similar, I mean the exact same. When I restored my interior last year I called the Alfa guys for the new switches.
Out in my driveway right now I have the Alfa and two 73 Fiat 850's. It's really funny to see the similarities with the 10 year newer Ferrari sitting next to them.

Henry -- go here:

http://www.owners.ferrari.com

(Others, with earlier pre-standardized VIN F, have reported some difficulties getting registered, but I didn't need to do anything beyond giving the information requested in the on-line registration -- other than wait a couple of days for the email back.)

Why did you have to mention that White Post is a rippoff just when I sent a box load of vintage Lamborghini brake parts off for them to do...:-(

now you make me feel like telling the story of the 330GTC Master Cylinder they rebuilt for me a couple years ago...the one that kept causing the brakes to lock up after short periods of use...:-(

See what the TR owners caused when they forced Ferrari NA to give out a few measly "free" seat belts!!!

This is their warning to complainers!!

Ferrari of Ontario wanted $330 Canadian for each upper ball joint, and I'd have to wait 2-3 weeks! Went through the owners site and paid $71GBP and got them next day! Worked out to half the price.

It is Ferrari economics, you move the decimal place over to the right. Here is a perfect example, the part would normally cost $7.00 Using Ferrari economics move the decimal place over and it now costs $70.00 Sounds about right to me! :-)

The following is soley my opinion:

Shame on Bill Thompson from White Post for wanting to charge me $35.00 each + $6.00 ups for a brake fluid holding tank cap that I needed on my '77 308. I called Alpha Parts in Traci, CA on my way home from work today and picked up the pair for $5.00! These are generic Benditalia parts that fit Fiat, Alfa and Ferrari. I have no problem with ANY business making a REASONABLE profit, but $70.00 for a pair of caps, Com'on! If someone is as good as White Post in their field, they should have offered this information (That a Ferrari dealer gave me on Fiat and Alfa interchangable parts).
