Usually something stupid; "How's she handle?" "How's the ownership expierence?" "do you track it?" if not I tactfully suggest it, as "the most fun you will have with your pants on" Mostly I just like chatting back and forth about cars and things Spent a good 15min or so with a Diablo owner trying to decide if it was dry-sump or not (he didn't know either, had just purchased the car. He did know what dry-sump was though! We deduced by it's fill qty, and what looked like a sump and many scavange hoses, that it was.) Best! Ben. |

"I know it's 450 Horse but what's the torque?" "What's it like driving a chick car?" "Why is it not yellow"? yeah right - like I ever talk to exotic car owners! |

If I see an exotic I usually try to act like I'm calm and collected but I usually can't speak right. I love any type of exotic car and on the rare occasion I get to see one I'm usually dumbfounded so usually I say something sounding like a mix of German English French and Spanish as I sit there drooling on myself |

In Hong Kong, the usual question will probably be : "Did you buy it new?" |

I have no shortage of questions if it's a Ferrari, usually something that will let them know I know a little about them. If it's a late model car, I'll ask if it's an F1 or 6 speed. If it's not a Ferrari, I ask them why they didn't buy a Ferrari! :-) |

Those questions are much the same that I ask myself when I meet an exotic owner. When I was only 16 or 17 I saw an E39 M5 for the first time (when they had just come out), and I flagged the guy down and waved. He graciously rolled down his window and asked, "Would you like me to pull off so you can see it?". Mind you, this was on a seven lane street (Poplar in Memphis, for those who are familiar). He pulled off into a parking lot and asked me to sit in it, get comfortable. This was too much for a pubescent car geek, and I oogled every last detail. I asked him if this was his daily driver, how long he had owned it, are BMW's your sole passion, etc. He was a true gentleman. |

Sort of a flip on the other thread. I saw a BMW M1 years ago with Nevada plates in Chicago. I asked him how much he drove it, how it handled, if his local BMW dealer would even touch it, how long he had it.... I'm sure the owner appriciated that my questions were about the things he himself loved about the car. |
