Paul: Do you make a product to help fit factory 308/328 16 inch rims onto Mondials stuck with TRX rims? Is this even possible? I understand the offset is different (55mm on the Mondial, but I don't know in which direction). Any and all info appreciated!

Much better looking in my opinion. That has been one of my dislikes about the 355. The body swallowed the wheels. The spacers make a dramatic improvement.

Jeff,

Thanks – You have mail.

Alan,

I have posted these pictures of the 355’s here so you and others can see the differece.

The black 355 has 15mm spacers front & rear.

All the red ones do not.

(I’m sure I had a 355 around with spacers in my garage somewhere :-))

Paul already knows that I'm ordering a set for my 348 TT. I've seen his work and, in fact, have bought his pedals aleady as well as a spacer fro my steering wheel. His products are very high quality. You won't be disappointed. Paul, I'll e-mail you privately about my order.

Mark,

Spacers on the front theoretically will affect the steering geometry. On the 348 there is a +6mm offset to the centre line of the wheel as standard. It would be interesting to hear from some of the challenge guys on here who have had experience with this.

I have had the spacers on mine for about a month now and I would not go back for 2 main reasons – one being the better handling and secondly, the way the cars stance has improved dramatically!

Mike,

Thanks, I remember the thread very well and was one of the main reasons why we looked into developing these. The Chrome bolts seem to be an issue in them selves. I have seen ones supplied from 2 big companies that specialise in these sort of spacers and I was shocked to see the quality on the front face. (bad pitting, damage, dull plating etc..)

Matt,

The Type 1 spacers will work with your 308 but the wheel bolts are shorter on the 308 compared to the 348/355. You would need to measure the length of your existing bolts (front & rear) under the smallest part of the conical part to the end of the threaded part of the bolt.

(On the 348 the standard bolt length is 55mm, so with 15mm spacers, a 348 owner with factory rims would need 70mm bolts.)

Ming,

I had a look at a 456 earlier today, and the front tyres are quite close to the arches already.
The rears look as though they could accept the 15mm spacers. Have a look at yours and you will see what I mean.

I have also just seen a 355 with 15mm spacers on it (front &rear), and as Martin quite rightly said “does the trick completely” :-) so to correct my previous post, 25mm spacer on the 355 is not advisable!!

The pictures below are of my 348 with the 25mm on the back and 15mm on the front (before & after)

Thanks all

Hi Paul,

Which one should I purchase for my 456 with the standard factory wheels and tires?

BTW, I received the Pedals yesterday. I haven't had time to install it but the quality is great.

Thank you.

Paul,

Will your spacers work on the 308 carbs?

Excellent, Paul! I put 15mm spacers on the rear of my 308QV. They were from HR, but the fit/quality wasn't perfect and required some mods. See the thread at
http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/112/206162.html

I am very happy with the end result, but they were NOT plug and play. I'm sure yours will be much better.

Your spacers look great, and I would like 15mm for the front of my 348. I have 25's on the rear that came from Koenig in Germany, and I think I paid more than your price.

Question: Is there any negative effect on the steering geometry in the front if the king pin axis is designed to pass through the center of the contact patch? Is 15mm enough to matter?

Thanks, Mark McKenzie

Alan,

Thanks kindly - I will email you.

Martin,

Thanks for the advise – That was one thing I would make sure I said a least 2-3 times in the info sheet!

Allen,
for the 355 use only 15mm front and rear. Works well and does the trick completely. Would post you a picture of mine on but the car is in the shop for a new clutch.
On a 348 I recommend 20mm front and 30mm rear (for all cars before GTS/GTB/Spiders came out, better said the new axle design)

Paul,
your spacers look great. They are prices very reasonable. Make sure to forwarn all your clients, that will use the bolt-on type 20mm or more that they have to re-tighten the spacer to the axle after a few miles. They come off very easy, although they do not fall off, physically impossible, the wheel runs rough and will make a lot of scary noise. Re-tightening is definetly necessary.

I would like to order a set that will work with my 355. Whichever you recommend that will look the best. My wheels are standard.

Philip – your too kind!! :-)

Byron,

The type 1 spacers just use longer bolts. You just have to take the wheel off, make sure that the hub on the car is free from muck etc (a wire brush does a good job!) Pop the spacer on, aligning the holes then the wheel just bolts on through the spacer.

The type 2 spacer bolts onto the hub (again making sure its clean) with the 10 bolts that are supplied with the kit. The wheel then bolts to the spacer.

As will all of these spacers, you should run the car for a few miles and re check the torque on the bolts.

The weight of the 15mm Type 1 is 480g (1lb) and the 25mm Type 2 weighs 770g (1lb 11oz)

Alan,

On the 348 the 25 or 30mm spacers work well on the back and the 15mm ones on the front. I know the 355 will accept the 25mm on the rears, but you just need to check the tire in relation to the arch to get an idea if the 15mm will work.

The other thing to consider is that if your car has non-standard rims, the arches may be filled out already!

Thanks

Paul, these look great... how much do each of these things weigh? Other than simply bolting them on, is the installation procedure more involved?

These are what we will be shipping in the first week of June! (see pictures)
Initially they will be available in the following

15mm, 25mm and 30mm widths.

WS015 - 15mm spacers (Type 1 fixing)@ £45.00 per pair

WS025 - 25mm spacers (Type 2 fixing)@ £100.00 per pair

WS030 - 30mm spacers (Type 2 fixing)@ £110.00 per pair

WB070 - 70mm Wheel Bolts (used with 15 mm spacers on 348,355) @ £5.00 each

"Type 1 Fixing" are plain hub centric spacers that require longer wheel bolts

"Type 2 Fixing" are hub centric spacers with new bolts that fix the spacer to the hub. The existing wheel bolts are then used to affix the wheel on to the spacer.

The loger bolts that we will ship are made by us, chrome plated and the front domed face to be highly polished to a mirror finish.

Other Widths of spacers and lengths of bolts will be added very soon.

I will update our website over the weekend with more info.

Any comments greatly appreciated :-)
