Bart, a few of us are gonna do a FCar run to Vegas one of these weekends... don't know about racing you, but it would certainly be fun to run our horses a bit down the 15! |

The 550 is awesome, it's all about everything the 60s ferraris were. Sex, romance, speed, RED, sex, v12 at full song, and did I mention sex?
That said, I did lament the passing of the 512M and mid-engeine cars (though we did still get F50 AND now Enzo, so, ok Ferrari!
PS: Look into a Fuchs (CarGraphic, etc) exhaust for your 550. After hearing Norm's 550/CarGraphic. Well, I'm in love!!!

PPS: I like the 550 better than 575 I think. 550 may infact be the pinnacle high watermark 'classic' style Ferrari. |

Good point. I think many people missed the point Ferrari was trying to make with your car. The Maranello is so much more than "the heavy GT that isn't as fast as a 360 F1"...

I am just an ordinary guy. Now I am past fifty and close to sixty. My beast has been in my garage for now over a year (9,000 miles). All those years wasted by not driving a Ferrari. Boy, am I stupid. I spend all my years driving on the Southern California Public Rapid Transportation System using a small four cylinder stick. Now I drive a 550. The 550 is the fastest production car of the twenty century. No, its little brother may be quicker but it is not faster.
I drive my silver car and it is stealth. Not being flashy, it does not stand out as a 360 does.
Some cars may be faster out of the gate and some cars may have a higher top end but my 550 does not over heat like the others. I can maintain top end speed and not over heat. Nice V-12.
Does anyone want to race from Southern California to Las Vegas? The paddle does not help in this race. The straight is forever; there are no turns, only Barstow or Barker for fuel. One only shifts at the start, then into sixth. Come you little things.
