John, are you looking for a Cab or Coupe? I have a 1984 Cab that I am selling. Beautiful example in Rossa Corsa & tan.

Congrats on your 3.2! CT suspended testing indefinetly due to corruption at test centers so my old Mondy never had to go thru. I traded it in January, dont know who was selling it on E-bay....

Thanks to Jay and Dave for your responses. Dave, I'm assuming your older Euro Mondial is the black one? Did you ever have it smogged? I found the perfect car for me (color, records, etc). It is a European version 3.2 Mondial, and I want to navigate the process to pass inspection. Danke!

My old 83 Euro Mondial is on Ebay right now. Im sure you could have a muffler shop install cats, without you certainly wont pass emissions. It sounded great however an feels as powerful as my 3.2 US Mondy. The metric wheels stink but you buy new wheels. Might want to add up the cost of these improvements an see if you would be better off buying a newer 3.2...

John,

The Euro versions of the Mondial are equiped with headers instead of manifolds and are converter free. That is definitely going to give you a horsepower boost, but the cost kinda' sucks. I am sorry but I don't think you will pass emissions in any state, especially California. Just get the U.S. version and get an aftermarket exhaust and maybe Hyper Flow Converters or test pipes. If you opt for test pipes you will need to retune your injection system. I own the U.S. version and am in the middle of planning my exhaust upgrade. Right now I am looking for information on custom built headers. Anyone think that it's posible to build a custom header system while using the converters? That would be sweet!

Hello, just joined the chat today. Does anyone have advice (pros or con) about buying or owning a Euro-version of the Mondial? For instance, I have heard they don't have c.converters (which gives them an extra 10 hp), but I wonder if that makes it harder to smog-certify in CA? Metric wheels, etc. Any other ideas? Thanks.
