Taek- It was a real pleasure meeting you and your wife today! She definately is a car girl, you are one lucky man! Sorry for the 'close call' hopefully the 996TT will still be a surprise!

I also got to meet Art and Vincent finally, you guys rock! We definately should come up with a route a bit more north though. We could do 1 out from Mill Valley to Stinson (There's a pretty good breakfast place out there, though I can't remenber it's name now!)

Best!
Ben.

Is that right! Cayenne Turbo is the bomb - it'll spank most sport cars, including its very own 911 C2. I want a ride in one of those.

BTW, I'll have the book ready for you in 2 days.

Noel I ran into the TT and a cayenne turbo on the Golden Gate Bridge. Turns out the TT was heading to Napa as well. Pretty much followed each other all the way home. Saw him again this morning while driving around for work.

Stephen, you're right. My wife's pretty cool about most things I do. It's just that too many things with cars have been going on lately so I wanted to be a little more gentle about it.

By the way she kept telling me that we should've bought "that 308 you were looking last year". She loves the 3X8, and looking at yours probably got her excited about the car. It does look fantastic.

Right now I'm trying to convince her that we need more garage space. She just can't see having a four bedroom house with six garage spaces :-). I guess she's right, considering we've started the process of renting it out and moving to a cheaper property.

Cheers

Glad the cats out of the bag Taek,
I'm sure your wife will love the new addition. She seems very understanding.
Noel, Vincent,
I saw those 2 cops licking there chops when we eased along with the traffic. They seemed disappointed ; )
It was very nice meeting you Vincent. Your Nero 348 is really stunning! Did you run into the TT along 19th ave?
Norm,
We're going to have to change our route to find some sun huh? Let's let Art and Vincent work up a route for the next run.
It was great to see everyone and they're cars again. Lets hope for better weather for the next drive.

Cheers

I saw them, and ran by them in 1st. Going the limit, but making a lot of noise. Bet it pissed them off, probably thought they had another ticket.

Noel,

I saw her. She was going the other way after we moved to a safer place, and she was talking on a cell phone. I can't wait to get plates, but first CA DMV has to find my car. Can you believe they lost it!! Didn't know about the cop that followed us. Is that why you pulled into the right hand lane for a while?

The one in HMB (while we were parked on the side of the highway waiting for Steve & Ben). If you noticed, I moved forward a little bit because she might tag us for illegally parking. I also noticed that she was eyeballing your car since it has no plates.

The 2nd cop was in Pacifica which followed us for 2 miles or so.

The fact that the V-1 has directional sensors, I was able to track where the trooper was.

I need a 2nd Valentine 1 for the other car so I dont have to switch between cars :-)

Noel,

There were cops everywhere. Where did you see those two?

I've been considering a radar detector. Are they legal? It sounds like the one you have is one of the best. Why two units?

Vincent,

Did you see the 2 cops preying on speeders? They both have their radar guns on. My V-1 saw them few blocks away.

With all the $$ (and violations) it saved me, I'm tempted to get a 2nd unit.

Taek,

I ran next to a brand new Turbo on the way home. Sweet looking car! Congrats. Glad to hear everything's going to be allright. I thought the cat was out of the bag when Art asked you about- how did you put it--The American Ferrari. It got quiet there for a few.

It was great meeting everybody, last time I got there kind of late and didn't have a chance to introduce myself. Had a good time and learned a lot. That coastal weather just doesn't lead to a lot of driving though.

Stephen, your black 308 is really sharp!

Oops! Me and my big mouth. It was kind of interesting to see your lip quiver like that though, buddy. She seemed to realize what was involved though. You're lucky to have such an understanding wife. Glad you brought her along.

By the way. She's not mad. She almost never gets angry. She just wants explanations, that's all.

I do guess I owe her that much...

No problem Art. She's a car kinda girl anyway. I doubt she'll be able to say no to the Turbo. The real interesting part is going to be when she asks me for a sedan and I buy another sports car. :-) Thanks for taking the time to explain the car to her. She was really apprecitive and had nothing but nice things to say about you.

Cheers

I am so sorry. I sure didn't mean to tell her about something that I shouldn't have. Someone had mentioned the Porsche accident earlier and I didn't think when I mentioned the Porsche.

OK, all in all it was good fun. Two minor things that needed explanation on the drive home. I took my wife, who wasn't too thrilled about waking up that early. As soon as she got there she enjoyed herself though quite a bit.

Anyway. Norm and I were talking about restorations and old italian cars when out it came. "Old cars can be expensive to maintain, let alone restore" (loosely worded, it was something to that effect). OUCH! My dreams of owning a classic almost went out the window! :-) Next Art is graciously showing my wife the engine bay of Vince's 348 and mentions the Porsche being totalled. This one was a little tougher to talk myself out of. We're going to be going to Blackhawk museum in a bit but before I'm going to show her the accident report so she knows it wasn't my fault and that everything will be OK (no lawsuits and such). I guess this could be construed as the easing in process of letting her know that I already purchased a Turbo. Hey, at least she won't be too surprised. :-)

Thanks all for a good time. Hopefully next time the weather will cooperate and do a little bit of driving.

Cheers
