Hi Keith, I noticed a pair of new front brake rotors for sale on e-bay for the Mondial. You can search by userID "gentry.lane" For your information, I just bought an 86 Mondial coupe with ~56K miles for $21.5K. It's a Euro version, which would lower the price a bit, and just had full service, which would increase the price some.

I would think the rotors can be resurfaced, you can get porterfield pads for $100 bucks or so

Keith, ask Kurt at www.ferraribooks.com. He is a sponsor of this site. His price is competitive even against Italian sources. I got a pair of 512TR foglights from him before. Great guy.

Thanks again. I've done a bit of searching for brake pads and rotors for this car - for parts only, the best I've seen is about $1100. If anybody has recommendations on sources for these parts and a preferred pad, I'd appreciate the input.

Keith, this sounds like the car I put you on too, I would say in the low to mid twenties, tough to justify high twenties with 49k miles and a service coming up for a coupe, get a ppi. I think the early mondial fuel pump fuse has some history and might have been changed out on some of these cars

Keith,

I am a fan of the coupe also. I would guesstimate a price of $26k to $32k for an excellent condition coupe. But who knows...just make sure to have the ppi and buy the best one you can find. Happy hunting!

Sorry spelling brain not turned on today... Must be holiday and too much vino last night.

86 Mondial 3.2 coupe - 49K miles - needs front brakes (pads & rotors) - has a fuse that gets hot after 15 minutes. Is VERY clean. Need advice on fair market price. Also, folks with experience dealing with Algar (Ferrari dealer in Philadelphia). Thanks!

Thanks for the advice. I took a road trip to Philadelphia this weekend to look at an 86 Mondial 3.2 coupe, right colors, and just took a platinum at the Reading Ferrari concours. It's got 49k miles, will need a major service is 2 years or 9K (whichever comes first). Needs front breaks and one of the fuses (fuel pump) gets hot. I wouldn't buy without a PPI, but would like input on estimates of fair market for this car. Thanks.

I own a 1988 3.2 Coupe, Silver/Blue with 49,000 miles. Just had the 30K service completed at Ferrari of Atlanta. I'm with you in preferring the coupe over cabrio. Very nice car to drive and makes all the right sounds, in particular with the Tubi it has. From what I have read and my personal experience with this car, 88 seems to be a very good year for this model. Good luck in your search!

Keith
You may want to drop an email to Brad Goldstone ([email protected]). He is the sales Mgr at Ferrari of SF in Mill Valley,CA. He has his hands on some very fine cars. Brad is an extremely polished guy that you can work with great confidence.

I gotta have a coupe - no patience for or interest in a cabriolet. Prefer Red/Tan interior but would consider others. Like a good woman, the car should have been around the block a few time, acquired some mileage but never been rode too hard or put away wet. Must be pretty on the outside and beautiful mechanically. No amnesiacs, gotta have history, tools, books. I have cash in hand, an empty bay in the garage, and I'm ready to fall in love with the right car!
