Stuttgartdavid, >>Ferrari engineers would leave horsepower on the table with a bad exhaust design? << Which Ferrari do you own? Deepest respect but I disagree with you totally! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my F-car, but it aint perfect, it has 'character'. I replaced the exhaust system on my 348 (manifolds, test pipes) because the factory supplied was shall we say less than satifactory. The manifolds cracked, heat shields were rattling like a tractor we are talking BAD DESIGN. Ferrari is outstanding no doubt, but perfect? A perfect car wouldnt need to have the engine removed to do a cambelt service at 2000 ever three years.... And I wouldn't be driving a Ferrari to be stealthy either! Tubi is the answer of that I have no doubt, an oustanding investment, better than constantly repairing the stock system! |

I changed mine and like it. I doubt I would go back to stock. However I have a Spider and there are times with the top down when I wish I could turn it off. I am not sure what you mean about boom and resonance in the rev. range. Highway driving will require you to drive in 5th or 6th gear if you want to keep the sound down. |

"Why would Ferrari engineers leave power on the table with a bad exhaust design" David,as I understand it its because the Tubi will not pass Euro or US certification noise tests. The chief tech guy at FNA told me it adds 3-5% to my 512TR but who knows. Note the lawyers stamp on the TUBI "for competition use only" |

I just bought a 360 F1 last week with a Tubi already installed. Although I have not experienced the car with stock exhaust I find the Tubi to be just right for a sporting car of this nature. It's not too loud but does give the car a serious tone. |

If you want more noise, maybe. But I am glad to see people here are not bragging about adding more power. Why do people always seem to think that Ferrari engineers would leave horsepower on the table with a bad exhaust design? For most cars, and I bet the 360 is no exception, changing to an aftermarket exhaust usually costs you horsepower instead of adding it! Factory engineers aren't stupid, and usually optimize the exhaust for its intended environment. That environment here is a street performance application across a broad rpm band - just the kind of driving most of us use their cars for. If you want more noise at the expense of a smooth torque curve and reduced reliability, ok, spend the extra $1k per db. But unless you have really modified the engine for a different rpm range, don't expect more power. Besides, there is a reason that the US Airforce flys steath bombers instead of attention-attracting bombers (yes, noise is a component of steath in addition to radar and IR signature) - they intend to use their machines in anger, and drawing the wrong kind of heat prevents mission success! |

What is a fair price for a Tubi system (quieter version) on the 360? |

One last thought- I feel the car revs faster than stock especially mid range. |

I did the Tubi only (no test pipes) in March of this year and would have done it sooner had I been sure of the results. I have heard a fellow chatter's Tubi + Test pipes on his 360 and it sounded like 75% of Schumacher's F-1 sound even several blocks away. No resonance in my rev range that I would classify as anoying to a 49 year old. A wonderful sound at idle. I even zip tied the stock vacume valves open and did not get the desired sound. |

I put a Tubi in the 360 and love it. Not too loud, and definitely not overwhelming on long drives. Seller claimed an additional 15bhp, but I really don't feel it. |

From idle to about 3500 rpm, the 360 sounds like a sewing machine.....I would definitely "TUBI" |

You know, I never was a fanatic of the stock exhaust sound on the 360 compared to the stock 355 sound. But last week I was lucky to get a ride in a 360 with stock exhaust and I have to say that it was quite delightful from the inside, it couldn't be any other way especially with the engine siting right behind your shoulder! |

In a 360, the're very quite until you get on the gas, then they make a very nice sound. I've got a Tubi on the 355, and I'm thinking about a tubi on the 360. The 360 is very quite until you're on the gas. I'll think about this, maybe ride with another 360, then make up my mind. Art |

I have the stock exhaust because it's loud enough for me already. I've also driven with 360 owners (some are here on FerrariChat) who has Tubi. Apparently, there are 2 flavors. The really loud version and a more mild version. It's something you really need to hear for yourself. |

How many 360 Modena drivers have changed the stock exhaust to a Tubi system? I understand the Tubi will make the car sound louder, but is there any boom or resonance anywhere in the rev range? Would the car be wearing on a long trip, ie 300-400 miles?
