The Ferrari legend was made at LeMans and other Sports car racing tracks. F1 was a side show back then. I'd love to see Ferrari have a Serious sports car racing team

The P4 was State of the art when it came out, as is the ENZO. In this there is something in common with them. I think they both have that "from follows function" beauty, but the ENZO shows the advances in the science of aerodynamics and chassis construction since the P4.

Ferrari recently reorganized Gestione Sportiva to give more support to those racing the 360GT and 550, so I don't think anyone can say, exactly, that Ferrari is strictly F1.

Just my .02 Lira.

William H...

That is what I don't like... Today, Ferrari is F1 this and F1 that. Not that it's a bad thing, I mean, depending on who you ask, it can be said that they wipe the floor with the other teams. They should get into sports car racing again.

And I agree with you about Porsche. They can engineer a good piece of car.

Must disagree. In my ever-so-humble opinion, i think the Enzo, too, is one of the most beautiful cars ever built. Can't argue with anything else you said, though... :-)

The Enzo is in no way a 330P4. The P4 is simply 1 of the most beautiful cars ever built. The Enzo is Not.

The P4 was a world championship winning prototype race car. The Enzo is a "relatively" mass produced road car

Ferrari hasnt raced sports cars since the 1970s except for the 333SP cus they are wussies who are afraid of having Porsche kick sand in their face

Kid, thank you - i, too, prefer it in black over any other color (although i certainly wouldn't object or even frown at a metallic pink Enzo with a dark purple interior and pink piping:-))...

J.G. - that's a given. i'm searching right now. :-)

James... women are another subject altogether. Some Ferraris are cheaper and easier to maintain.

j/k of course. The comment I made wasn't ment to be offensive.

As far as newier cars go, I totally agree with you. There is a lot to enjoy.

Des, the car in your profile is sweet. Black is my favorite color for the Enzo.

You forgot to mention the Maserati, LOL...! (sorry, couldn't help it.)

So neither one of you know for sure which car is in the picture...?

Wow... that's quite a collection you have there.

What do you think of modern exotic cars today and where are they headed?

Upon reflection I take your point. MK-IV, Lola T70, Duesenberg. If you search you'll find threads about them.

James, we just think a lot of the lines in the Enzo flow like they do in the P4.

What other cars do you have James? And which is your favorite? I still can't believe I'm talking with a P4 owner... they are so rare. :-)

Wayne and I might have different answers to that question but we would probably both agree that that is 0846 the prototype P4 shortly after it's conversion from a P3. (Its' first conversion)

Maybe as you get to my age you see things differently but I'm not sure I see much P4 in the Enzo except of course for the PASSION.

Thanks for the insight James. I can't wait to see what the Maserati will look like. Have fun with your racers!!

Ron, I feel the same way. When I first saw pictures of it I thought of the P3/4... hmmm

Kid,

I've always said that the ENZO's design is based on the P3/4. Take a look at the lines, the doors the front and rear.. It screams P3/4.

Kid
The P4 and the Original GT40's were race cars. Even though there were a few GT40 road cars they were really detuned race cars. The regulations of today no longer make it practical to build a race car that can compete in the prototype class and be driven on the street. It looks like Ferrari may race a form of the Enzo badged as a Maserati MC in the GT class similar to where the Ferrari 250 GTO battled the Cobras but the days of overall winning prototype racers on the street is for all intents and purposes left to people like me with 33 year old cars...

Lately I've seen compairisons with Ford's GT and the 360 Modena... Now... correct me if I'm wrong... but the GT40 of old raced a 4L V12 car... the closest to that in production would be the Enzo... Which makes me ask... it's not a car like the F40 and F50 (and if it WAS an F60, it would have been an early one at that...)... so is the Enzo the 330 for 2003?

Regardless... I think they should make a modern version of the car the P3/4 was...

They race 360s and 550s... and did the F40s... But why not the F50s and the Enzo Ferrari?

Thanks.
