Andy, there actually IS a driving event as part of the Challenge weekend. Of course, no one has details as of yet, but there will be some DE sessions open to us. I'm sure it won't be cheap, and I suspect the sessions will be neither plentiful nor long, but you WILL get to drive in front of an audience.... :-) vty, --Dennis |

You're right Lou. No racing on Sundays at Lime Rock. I just wish they would couple the Challenge races with an FCA driving event. It would be much more enjoyable to be part of the event rather than spectating. |

I understood that LRP was a 100% muffler track all the time and there was no racing on Sunday period. Am I wrong? |

LRP has a really bad problem on Sundays. If you look up the hill behind the track, there is a small church. My understanding is that no racing engines (either because of Lakeville Ordinance, or the church's request) can be started before 12PM on Sundays because of the service. I was at the vintage festival last year for the auction on Sunday, and a guy with a very nicely done '67 Plymouth Drag/Funny Car started the car (Straight Pipes and Nitro) and it almost lead to a very heated argument between the owner and a security guard - it was 9:00 AM and the guy only did it because the car was too heavy to push to the Auction Corral. They really gave him a lot of s*it for it, and every one of the employees takes that rule very seriously, no matter who you are. |

Thanks Michael. That looks like something I would definately enjoy. It seems strange that it is F&S and not S&S. Maybe I will attend both days make an event out of it. I live in southern Vt now but my family still lives in R.I. I still spend a bit of time in R.I. |

Rob, here it is: <a href="http://www.limerock.com/LRP-Events/ferrari.html"> It also looks like Friday has been opened to the public, it wasn't that way last week. BTW, do you still reside in RI? |

I'm hoping to go but was planning on going Sun. Does anyone have a link for this event? |

It's definitely on my schedule. Saturday the 12th is the only day open to the public as far as I know, and its $20 for the ticket. It is a great time though, the 2nd infamous 365P three-seater (the white one with the wing, discussed in a previous post a few days ago) showed up there a year or two ago. I have pics, but haven't gotten them developed yet. |

LRP is holding a the Ferrari vintage challenge as well as a 348-355-360 Challenge 10th anniversary. FNA is helping out. Should be a fun event & its open to the public & they will have a Ferrari corral for Ferrari drivers. Think I'll take my 512TR race car up for a few laps See if I can do a 0:55 in that monster at LRP |
