If money and resale matter, the F1 market is stronger on both the 575M and the 360 and that is an answer. So the market has a perspective, it doesn't mean that it should be your decision, that's why there is a choice. This is not a debate about right or wrong. I purchased the F1 in both the 575 and the 360 because I am far from being an accomplished driver and the F1 package is more than just a transmission. It includes a battery of sensors that measure wheel speed, body yaw, acceleration, etc. far faster than a human mind can process information. So the F1 is more modern technology and that appeals to people like me. I have a different opinion than one of the other posters obviously, I think the 575 is even a better F1 platform than the 360, I own both cars in F1 and have driven both cars in 6 speeds. My son has the BMW version on his M3 and loves it as well. There are some things about the way BMW implemented the SMG that I like better than the Ferrari version. More on that if there is interest. Somewhere I have the link to a white paper published by Gertag I believe, on the future of this technology and I might be able to find it if someone wants it. |

9000 miles, clutch at 8000 had "essentially no wear" when a throwout bearing issue was addressed. "6 speeds save clutches." |

8800 on my F1 tranny, but mine had to be rebooted and sensors re-aligned about 2K ago. |

"I have driven both and own an F1. I vote for the F1 any day." If (and this is a big if) you got twice as many miles on the clutch with the 6 speed compared to the F1, would yo still pick the F1? Say 10,000 miles F1 versus 20,000 miles 6 speed. |

Great post- If only one 360 then a 6 speed. If you can have 2 360's then one of both! I love it. IF 2 360's would they both be red? |

Since my pair of cars is reverse than Kuzi's , I have to swap the car with his, just to feel the difference in transmission I definitely like F1 on the 360s |

If you're going to use the 360 in commuter traffic (I am) then the 6 speed is the way to go. If you're only going to drive it on weekends and track days, maybe the F1 is right. Art |

The only right and true answer: ONE OF EACH! Seriously, I love both, Ferrari probally holds the pinnacle of both (gated shifter, pure sex! F1 system, do 60 in 4th, pull handle 3 times and STAND on brakes, you'll think you're Schui!) <latter is best with no cats and straight/tubi exhaust. Best! Ben. |

Vernon, thats the exact combo I have and couldn't agree with you more.........The 360 is great to throw around on the weekends and to "show off" in, and thus 6spd........the 575M is a great GT and just perfect for long distance cruising, thus the F1. |

Although I do not own a 550 or 575 as Dr Shelbee does, I would have to disagre with the Doc. I think that the 360 (sports car) should always be 6 speed and the 575(GT) is perfect for the F-1 system |

On this site there is a wealth of info on this debate. It all comes down to the person and type of driving they will do. Being an ex-racer (Vintage Formula Atlantic), all my past sports cars (12 Corvettes, 3Zr1's and ZO6) have been 6 speeds except two. I love a six speed and do not track my 360. If I lived and had to drive in major traffic everyday I sure I would lean towards the F-1. Perhaps the best advise is to wait for Eli to report back. I will always want to shift my own gears manually but that just me. |

Michael, I suggest you do a search of this topic on this site. It's a topic that's been debated to death and got rather heated on both sides. |

If you are using it for anything else other than weekend pleasure runs, then you'd probably be happier with the F1. But for weekend warriors..........definitley a 6 spd! |

I've driven both and prefer the 6 speed. I enjoy the added driver involvement of a 6 speed, and the constant process of perfecting shifts and matching revs. I also feel like I have more control of the car with a 6 speed. But people's preferences on this topic will have a lot to do with the type of driving they do. If I spent more time on the track, I'd want an F1 tranny for certain. Likewise if I were in lots of stop and go traffic, I'd probably prefer an F1. But my driving is just weekend stuff in hardly any traffic. For that application, I really like the 6 speed. Of course my daily driver for the last 10 years has been a 6 speed, so obviously that's got a little something to do with it as well. Either way, you won't be disappointed. |
