I really love the looks of a 308 GTB. Definitely one of Pininfarina's most beautiful designs.

I owned a lot of classic British - Lucas, Prince of Darkness, and I go way back. It's great therapy for masochists. I'm not sure I could do it again. My knees and back just aren't what they were.

I actually bought this 308 with daily driver duties in mind. However the A/C didnt work. I planned on just upgrading the A/C and then driving it. As I began taking things apart to get to the AC lines for replacement.... I figured as long as Im here why not do the exhaust headers. Same philosophy... why not cam belts. So on and so on until the car was scattered all over the garage and a decent portion of the eastern seaboard.

If your going to drive a 308 as a daily car, when done this would be a great one. The question becomes how practical is a 308 really for daily driver duties. IMHO.... not terribly. If your like me and a bit car insane / masochistic then go for it!

Terry, Sounds like a beautiful restoration and worth every cent you are asking. I may really like a carb'd car (more power, better sound), but I'm concerned about reliability - I'm one of those crazies that is taking Enzo at his word - I'm buying an F-car for my daily driver. Any thoughts?

I have a very nice '77 308GTB that will be for sale in a few weeks. I am just finishing up a ton of work. Fresh cam belts and seals... cam covers and belt covers powder coated, header tank powder coated, water hoses replaced, fuel lines replaced, full A/C restoration including rotary compressor conversion and all new AC lines, headers ceramic coated inside and out, single distributor conversion with MSD, fully rebuilt and jetted carbs plus lots and lots of engine bay detailing. The car also has Italian Design racing shocks and springs with adjustable ride height and 6 way adjustable shocks. I have installed the 18mm GTS rear anti roll bar. 16" reproduction QV wheels with 245/45 rear and 225/50 front tires. All original parts including wheels/tires go with the car. Paint is excellent. Interior is excellent. Tubi. This car will be ready to drive. 46K miles. Full history with all books and records documenting proper maintenance since day one.

I want mid $30's for it. You can clearly buy one for low $20s.... and then start the process of throwing money at it or buy one that is already done and ready to drive. Probably similar end costs, but one you can drive now.

Anyhow, a carb GTB is much different from an injection GTS. It may not be the car for you, but if your interested give me a shout.

Yikes! My search has turned up some real toads so far (not that this is definitely the case, though it sure was with a Mondial (owner) I came across. Never thought it would be this hard to find a quality 308 or Mondial 3.2.

Good luck Keith on this one. Bordentown NJ is home to one of the biggest schlock auctions in the Northeast. I wouldn't be surprised by anything on a car from that area.

Thanks!

I am only 25 minutes from Bordentown and would be happy to look at the car for you.

The only problem is I have zero knowledge about 308's. I will be happy to look at the overall condition of the car and see if there is any apparent problems .

Tom,
I've been driving Mondial 3.2's and like them. My wife love's the two seaters with open tops (which explains why I've been through a C4 Vette, Boxster and M Roadster in the past six years). I prefer the clean lines of a coupe. I'm told the 2 valve injected 308's aren't much for speed but handle better in the twisties. I haven't driven one so I'll defer to the experts.
The car is in Bordentown, NJ.

where is it, thought you wanted a mondial - if you have been testing out 3.2 you might be disappointed in the 308 is power

Found an 81 308 GTSi on E-Bay - have spoken with the owner and car will need rebuilt rear brake caliper, pads/rotor. Car was repainted, no accident damage claimed. Car also needs AC serviced. Would like an informed opinion on what else may be wrong before I commit to PPI and spend more time on this car.
