I have a 84 Mondial Cabriolet. As far as the back seat, plan on small children. Not a huge amount of room back there. The top is not that difficult to use. The problem lies in that the top should not be left in the lowered period for any length of time. In fact, a neighbor of mine who has an upholstery shop recommends that it shouldn't be left down even overnite. As long as it has been kept up, really not a problem for one person to raise and lower with some familiarity. A frend who worked for a Ferrari dealer, had also told me of people coming to the dealer in the spring after having left the top down all winter. And yes, it would require (2)-(3)techs to raise the top again. As far as a daily driver, either should fit the bill.If looking at a mondial, I would suggest an '84 or '85 QV, or 3.2. reliability, and performance was greatly improved over earlier examples. |

As a daily, the Mondial 3.2 certainly has proven very useable, and as said before a bit faster than some of the original 308s. With the right tires, the ride/handling balance/tossability/control is incredible with the longer wheelbase. While lower on the gawk value (I love this term), the 3.2 coupes are really quite elegant and subtle.

The Mondials 32's are much stronger runners than the original 308's. More comfy ( the coupe) as a daily driver. Not as much gwak value but better ride. Not as sporting but you asked for a daily driver. Having been in most models of the last 2 decades I can admit the 308s are SLOW compared to 328s... but big buck difference |

Once you get the hang of it, it only takes a minute or so. It's really not bad, certainly no worse than the 450SL I used to have. Now the leaks are another matter, although properly adjusted it's suitable for driving through light drizzle. |

I've had a variety of convertibles as daily drivers - M Roadster, Boxster, Miata, etc.. but not a top that takes 2 Ferrari tech's 20 minutes to raise or lower. That seems hard to live with. |

3.2's have sold in the mid 20's for a coupe, $5k (?) higher for the Cabriolet from what I've seen. The question then is can you use a Cabriolet as a daily driver. |

My local FNA dealer says the 328 is the most reliable F-Car he's ever had in inventory. He also wants $50K for a decent example... Would love to buy one but that's at least $15k more than I want to spend. I don't want to be one of those guys who buys a Ferrari, builds a shrine to it, polishes my (shift) knob in it and can't afford to drive/maintain it. |

Shouldn't the comparison be between a mondial 3.2 or a 328 (instead of a 308?). The 4 seat factor: as a daily driver, it is nice to have 4 seats instead of 2. You drive to work, and want to go out to lunch with a 2 of your buddies. If you have a mondial, no problem. If you've got a 308, well, I guess someone else will have to drive. Also, would assume that a 3.2 car would be more reliable than a 3.0 car (3x8 vs mondial). Dom |

I think the 308 has a stronger history when it comes to reliability. The 308 is what Ferrari is made of.. Iwould go with the 308... |

If only all my decisions were this enjoyable to make? Looking for input on which of these two models would make a better daily driver - seriously... Thanks! |
