Edmunds.com has a new review. Not so sure about some of their points, but good overall. http://www.edmunds.com/reviews/roadtests/firstdrive/100259/article.html?tid=edmunds.e.landing.featurereviews..2.* |

Mr Doody, you haven't heard the phrase anorak! get out'a here. Its akin to 'trainspotter' i.e. fetish wrt detail like collecting obsessive amounts of detail on things, serial numbers, specifications etc. Many people on this site could be classed as 'spotters' or 'anoraks' over here |

Spoke to a gentleman from Ferrari North America at a party held at the local dealer in Detroit. He confirmed that U.S. delivery of the Stradale would begin in the last quarter of this year and that a Rosso Scuderia car sans stripe (probably with the cloth seats) will be sent first to each dealer. They will begin filling orders for other color/trim combinations soon thereafter. Brian, the seats in the Stradale are the exact same as the sport seats in a regular 360 and can be covered in either leather or cloth. |

Tom is right. The F1 race team no longer race in the correct Ferrari racing red, but instead race in Marlboro red. Very sad day ... Thus I would rather drive a Ferrari red Ferrari than a Marlboro add, even if that is the F1 colour, it will not be if they change sponsors. Look at the early 90s F1 cars for proof. Lovely correct darker red. Pete |

Wow, that interior shot has me thinking... what colors do I want... hmmmmmm. Jay, I have the same issue with lumbar support. I have the racing seats in my current 360... they actually have *negative* lumbar support... absolutely painful to me. I bought a lumbar support cushion that locks firmly in between the back and seat and has an inflatable bladder for adjustment. Works great for me. I am curious though exactly what the two seat options in the Stradale are. Are either one related to the racing seats in the normal 360?

about the lumbar support, Sparco makes a thing that straps on to the seat (no cutting or sewing required) and is supposed to work great for lumbar support, but it's like $200. Then again, if you can spend $200,000 on a car, what's $200? Also, can you get this in a stick, I know I would never buy a car in F1 if a sick was offered. |

Doody, Yep...it's UK slang for nerdy/geeky...basically knowing too much about a subject would qualify being an anorak....wearing an anorak...is like having a pen protector.....Actually, I just saw a newsbite on TV about a spelling bee competition....definate anorak behaviour |

Lloyd -- 100% agreed.... I too would like to see more pics of the seats, and I too would have a difficult time ripping into the seat of my brand new $200k car! |

Re Lumbar Support- It would be interesting to see a better picture of the seat back. I have purchased an original Ferrari leather racing style carbon fiber seat which was supposedly out of an F40 and it was easily modified to provide lumbar support. In my case the middle of the back section of the seat is separate from the side seat bolsters which wrapped around the side and top of the back of the seat. This middle section is constructed of leather glued to a 1 to 2 inch thick piece of foam which is then glued to the carbon fiber shell. I just pulled the center section out and then put a foam lumbar support plus an inflatable bladder onto the carbon shell and then glued the foam and leather section in over it. This provided lumbar support and the seat appears the same as it did before. If you are interested I think I have a photo and can post it. The key is whether the Stradale seat has the back sewn to the surrounding upper bolster area or whether the back area is a seperate insert glued to the carbon fiber back. Nevertheless, a good interior person should be able to add lumbar support to either design. But it is a lot easier tearing into a seat you bought cheap than it is digging into one on your brand new $200,000 car. |

...which is about as extreme as it gets among Ferrari anoraks. I had to go look that one up! It's from the Inuit "annoraaq" meaning "A heavy jacket with a hood; a parka." according to The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, Fourth Edition. Is this some British slang I simply haven't heard before? Doody. |

I seriously thoguht about getting the stradale (despite my distaste for the outer "japanese styling" of the car and pumping it into my actual streetable racecar. But they apparently don't come w/roll cage, fire extinguisher, and all that jazz -- which bumps up those nice weight savings and so forth. But then again i think i still have AC and two seats in my challenge. ;)

I love the story about why Ferrari paints the racecar 'Rosso Scuderia' This is from the London Times.... Ferrari reckons it will sell about 60 Challenge Stradales a year to confirmed enthusiasts of the marque. Theyll be the sort of people who will know about options such as the rosso scuderia paint scheme, which is about as extreme as it gets among Ferrari anoraks. Why? Well, television cameras slightly distort the true Ferrari red, which would appear too dark left to its own devices, so the F1 cars are painted a more neon-tinted hue that looks right when broadcast. And, for a price, Ferrari will paint your road-going Challenge Stradale that same brighter red

(2) Can the car be had in standard Ferrari red (i.e. not the racing "orangish" color)? The orange is of course very cool, but I still actually prefer a standard red, if it's possible. my understanding is that, like any ferrari, it is available in any possible color your brain is capable of desiring. (3) The car does have A/C right? Just wondering. yes, and i've been led to believe that it is not delete-able if you don't want it (well, not at the factory, at least). (4) Does anyone know North American pricing on it yet? i've been told that the official NA numbers are not out yet, but $180K is a likely round number. given the euro's perforance as of late, i'd expect it to inch up, unfortunately. doody. |

I have a few questions maybe someone will be kind enough to answer... (1) I know the seat options are either racing seats, or thin lightweight carbon fiber shell non-racing seats. I am wondering if the non-racing seats have lumbar support of any type? I have a bad back and as such racing seats, or seats without adequate lumbar support, just kill me. (2) Can the car be had in standard Ferrari red (i.e. not the racing "orangish" color)? The orange is of course very cool, but I still actually prefer a standard red, if it's possible. (3) The car does have A/C right? Just wondering. (4) Does anyone know North American pricing on it yet? Those pics really got me thinking now (can you tell?) Those carbo-ceramic brakes are just awesome, plus the extra HP and lightweight, PLUS I suspect this car will maintain it's value better over the long-haul versus a standard 360 F1, sort of like the 512M vs 512TR. Many thanks! |

Doody et al, Yes, it sure is as orange as it looks; the proper racing colour. For more on the car in general look on our website here...http://www.ferrari.co.uk/current/stradale/index.asp |

This is sweet...! Another daily driver for me...! After seeing pictures of Rob's car, i would take this one with the stripe down the middle, but only if the rest of the car is silver... Is the Horse on the back bigger than other 360s or is my mind playing tricks on me...? (Um, also... does this car come with cup holders...? ) |
