"If Enzo Was Alive..."

He'd be saying, "Help! Get me out of this box!"

From what little I know, Enzo would never post - our opinions would mean NOTHING to him...
He liked cars built 'his way' or no way and he didn't give a damn what anyone else thought - and damn right - when one man is the source of complete overall conceptual direction on a car you can be sure that it will be awesome.... (think F40, McLaren F1 etc...).

A possible longshot is that Enzo may post his dissatisfaction about some aspect of Ferraris motoracing programme on the Racing Fans bit... supposedly he never really gave a sh*t about roadcars anyway.

Jeff seems to have read the Brock Yates book about him, I guess!
Apparently he was a difficult man and he really despised the fools who bought his cars. He was not even interested in the development of the street cars except for the 288GTO or F40 etc. Thus he left most of this business to FIAT management.
Still great cars...

Just MHO.... I think the cool ass cars he made makes up for his apparent lack people skills. And they are still making people happy. Quite a legacy, huh?

I tend to agree Jeff...

If Enzo were to start posting, it probably would not take long before everyone decided he was an egotistical megolomaniac with a penchant for being manipulative. I doubt he would have time for any of us pee-ons at all unless we were writing very fat checks. He would also sabotage Schumachers car AFTER the title was wrapped up just to blame the failures on Michael in order to negotiate a cheaper contract. Luca would have walked out after Enzo's wife bitched slapped him over banning late morning pasta from the F1 team garages. Eddie Irvine would have quit after catching Enzo having an affair with his favorite girlfriend. Bernie and Enzo would be engaged in constant lawsuits and bickering as Enzo manoevered to manipulate the F1 rules to suit his agenda. Meanwhile Enzo would be in secret negotiations with Roger Penske to take over the CART series and move into direct competition with F1. Roger would balk because Enzo would demand twice the stock at half the price....

Aside from the ogling, he sounds a lot like Tom Milner of PTG (BMW NA Racing)...

I bought his "new" MINI, thinking of selling it. Fun, nimble, practical - not fast.

From what I have read, Enzo regarded his road cars and their owners as necessary evils to be dealt with in order to finance his racing activities. So his posts would probably be something like "Hey, fool, if your clutch goes out in 2,000 miles, just buy another one!"

He also liked to complain about negative press reports, he liked to threaten to quit racing, he liked to stir up deadly competition between his drivers, he bitterly complained about the money he had to pay his drivers, he liked to stab his friends in the back, and most of all, he liked to ogle women. In the "Hot Chicks" thread in Off Topic, he'd be THERE!

L'idea brillante Sig. Lay la Disposizione!

Arrivederci. La fortuna buona. Guidare l'automobile arginato!

L'amore,

Enzo

Translation:

Greetings from Heaven,

I would like to set the record straight. I am bored with all the F-1. I want to see my cars winning at Le Mans and Daytona. I hate Lamborghini. I want to see my cars on the road, not stuck in the garage. Trophies are won for racing not house keeping of a car! I love F-Chat. Brilliant idea Mr. Lay!

Good bye. Good luck. Drive the damn car!

Love,

Enzo

...and he knew about FerrariChat and logged on, on occasion, what do you think he would say...? Some of you know a lot about him; i'm just wondering what everyone thinks he would say... What do you think his replies would be to some of the posts like the Lamborghini/Ferrari magazine comparisons...? How do you think he would react to the GT4 jokes or any other comments, good or bad, with relation to the DESigns of the cars that have his name on them and the service from some dealerships...? What do you think his thoughts would be on racing, today...?

& lastly, :-), what do you think he would say if i asked him why none of his cars have cup holders...?
