I had a 1986 TR for several years. The only problem I ever had in over 20,000 miles was the cats stopped up and caused a decrease in performance. I replaced them with bypass pipes and it made a world of difference.

Cool Ben, it worked! I typed your name as Bill instead of Ben. Went back and changed it, now its correct.

I tried that once Ben and it didn't work for me (maybe I took longer than 15min).

Bruce, where are you from in Canada? Vancouver for me, although born-and-raised in Montreal.

Bruce -

Hint for next time (within 15 mins of posting) you can click on the word ""edit" next to the time of posting and no one has to know what the mistake was...not trying to make you feel like an idiot, just trying to show you a new trick.

I hope you are as big a Sky King fan as I am. I get a Christmas card from Gloria Winters every year.

I would like to thank all the many respondents to my questions on buying my first ferarri and the following tech questions.
Those of you who recognize my SkyKing handle [I was flying long before the Ferarri] know who this is directed to.

I ended up with a 1986 TR, red on black, and just like new. What a buzz it offers every time I fire it up.
You people on this chat line are the best and I appreciate your imput and genuine help.

kindest regards,

Bruce Warwick
Canada.
