>>the transmission had better be reinforced also or you will be buying transmission parts often<<

or it could be like the Diablo guys..the first clutch lasts 7K miles...but after a $7K Dollar repair bill...the second clutch miraculously lasts 3-5 times that many miles...go figure..;-)

The only problem I would see is that if the engine has a lot more hp than stock the transmission had better be reinforced also or you will be buying transmission parts often

Adrian, yes I've serviced several of them back in the gray market days and the work was of good quality.

>>Am I just asking for trouble?<<

I don't see why a Koenig would be trouble unless you are talking an old car
(Mods many years old) that has had the service neglected or been abused in some way.

Boxers are pretty tough machines...and no slouches in stock form....they were faster than stock Porsche 930 Tubrbos and equally as durable imo.

The carbs will require a trained ear to check the tune now and again, other than that very solid reliable cars

Have you worked on any of them? If so, what do you think of their work? Reliable? Am I just asking for trouble? Car also has body kit. A bit too wild for me but defintely a head turner. Check out www.koenig-specials.com and scroll down. There's a picture of the car.

For a carbed BB, Koenig had cams, pistons, clutches, body kits, wide wheels.

Anyone know anything about Koenig's mods on the Boxer? What was available? There's one I found by accident and I am intrigued by it. Unfortunately I won't be able to talk with the owner for a few days. Apparently an 82 with carbs. HELP.
