Oh yeah - and because you all are dying to know...the Enzo get 8mpg in the city and 12mpg on the highway. At least according to the window sticker. Is that gas guzzler territory? :-)

Yeah, the yellow one is still there (finally got a chance to go by there tonight) It's parked on the side of the building, inside, but right by the door. You pull up beside the building and that's all you see staring out at you. Too cool. Kevin's right though - you don't really look too much at the other cars - awesome as they are - when that thing is sitting front and center. In fact if my headlights hadn't caught a current model 911 Turbo sitting outside, I never would have even known one was there. The Enzo looks so SO much better in person than it does in pictures. No I didn't have a camera with me either, but what a machine.

DES,
I have video of the Enzo starting up. Go to http://www.gostek.com/pictures/ferrari/Reading and scroll to the bottom of the list, you'll find a few mpg's there.

No pics. Thought about it, labeled myself a pre-teen with hormones for doing it, and decided not to. Some of the people there probably wouldn't have cared, but there were two kids in winter caps and baggy clothing that pulled up in a Saturn Vue blarin' da' baaaasssss who were taking likely bad photographs of each other making gang symbols in front of the 360s outside. I was glad not to be remotely associated with them.

Kinda hard to describe. It starts up sounding like some of the older Ferrari race cars: almost like it's choking. After a few seconds it simmers down into a fairly low and very rough growl at idle. A lot of the noise is coming from the exhaust. We were in the garage, so there was a lot of reverb from the floor and walls. He babied it out of the garage for some photos, then gave it a kick by the showroom. At acceleration, it's just more of the same at higher pitch. I doubt he put it over 3000. Orchard Lake Road is pretty busy, so he couldn't get a big hole to make a left turn. But when he pulled into the center lane to merge, I swear the Tahoe would've caused an accident just to let him in. DES, was that you in the Tahoe? :-)

To put it in perspective, a 355 Spyder and a 360 Spyder were driven off in fairly rapid succession afterward, and they sounded, well, less menacing. Quiter, more refined, and higher pitched. It's a shame, but all the cars there (except the F40 and 512M) seemed rather mundane and ordinary.

In conjunction with Mr. Pininfarina in Detroit this week, both the Enzos coming to Michigan were delivered yesterday. I stopped by Cauley today to see them both. The owner took delivery of the red one while I was there (got to see and hear it drive off). I also got to be a fly on the wall while Dan Cable took him throught the car. The yellow one is still in the showroom for a few days.
