I used http://www.BigSkyExpress.com to have my 360 shipped from Fort Lauderdale to Indianapolis and was very pleased. $750 where Intercity and Horseless rates were $950. He is an ex-insurance exec and vintage races. He uses no depot and single level trailers. After he dropped mine off he was to pick up 2 of Nicolas Cages' cars bound for the West Coast. Rock informed me of his location thru out the trip. I was very pleased and Shelton was as well.

Yes JD, I did check but I am looking at other avenues as a bit of a price shop etc. I may end up simply going with what Maria sets up as then I know they will handle logistics as needed as opposed to having something arrive "a day late" etc. I was hoping to get on with someone that was entered from this area but the only person I know so far is Jon Shirley and he is trucking his 275 to Lake Tahoe in a one car trailer and then back via his larger transport.

Incidentally, he will be running the 275 NART in the FCR, the 166MM and maybe one other at the Historics and something special at Pebble.

i would NOT use translogic auto transport (i think based in michigan)

when i bought my 328 about two months ago, they trucked it from houston to new jersey. They missed the delivery date by a few days and when it was delivered, the battery was totally dead (it was relatively new)

the driver proceeded to tell me that it wasn't his problem and we pushed the car off the truck and jumped it with my car and my cables...needless to say, he wasn't tipped

When you sent your application in, did you NOT check the box "Please sign me up for transportation"? I talked to Maria, the organizer, and she quoted me $1600 round trip from the Phoenix area. She said it would probably be less after all the applications came in and they knew how many cars needed to be picked up. Of course FNA is using Horseless Carriage for this event. I haven't check if other carriers are less money. I've used Horseless before and have been pleased. My one concern about this event is how many days before and after the event my car will be tied up with Horseless Carriage.

Hi JMG

If you want a very reliable source,

call Lee Garder (503) 351-7170

He has his own trailer, very good guy and very prompt. Reasonable rate e.g.: $700 for 800 miles distance

Intercity is great. I used them to transport my car from Florida to New York last June-- reasonably -priced, right on time, and very professional.

I use Intercity to transport my XKE to whatever concours or show it may be in on a particular weekend. They have transported the car flawlessly every time, starting with the Barrett Jackson Auction where I bought it. Wholehearted endorsement! They were recommended by Tom Krefetz of Classic Showcase in San Diego and he uses them for all his very expensive stuff (old Astons, Porsches Jags and of course his own Dino)

Have used Golldrush motorsports twice in the last 6 months - Both times car was delivered within a week and everything went smooth.

Texas to North Carolina - delivered in 3 days
North Carolina to California - delivered in 7 days.

I highly recommend them -

Call Marc at "extreme".They do all the trucking for Ron Tonkin here in Portland and I use them to ship my car to Ca and back each winter.Reliable, less expensive than big co's and since they only ship 2 cars/truck you will get the car in a few days.Tell him I referred you.

Just had Intercity Lines bring my 348 from Denver to Fresno, no problems at all, just took longer than anyone wants. Randy, the driver, was very professional. I would use them again. Last experience with a shipper was a nightmare. Over $7 thousand in damage. Took a couple of months to get the insurance to cover the loss. They did eventually though. Good luck.

I need to ship my car from Seattle to Lake Tahoe (Ferrari Challenge Rally) and then from Monterey back to Seattle. (CI etc.)

First question, anyone from the Northwest in need of shipping or have extra space that is going to the Monterey event weekend?

Second, anyone with recent shipping experience/horror stories so I can steer toward/clear of any vendor?

Thanks,
JMG
