Hey, tater-tot:

You posted "Mr.Handa, If a guy has a 5 carat ring, 100% guaranted he paid for it himself!"

Lemme tell ya, pardner: if a man wears a 5 carat ring, he has other issues besides who paid for it. And I don't think you are in any position to "guarantee" anything about folks you don't know, are you?

Would you like me to tell you about the gorgeous watches my wife has bought me with HER money, zeke?

Oh, and one other thing before I dismiss you & your pathological misogyny forever: You, calling someone here a "pu-ssy"??? Thanks for the chuckle, chucklehead. Let us all know how that hypocrisy thing works out for ya, OK?

AMF.

James Adams,

The point if this thread is to show what an idiot Michael is.

I don't see the point of this thread? My wife has always impressed her co-workers as well as her clients with her car knowledge. If you want to talk vintage T-birds, she's right there with ya! In most cases, she knows much more than her male counterparts.

He father is a millionare, but she doesn't take anything from him. Nor do I, and we respect ourselves very much for it (sad to say that the rest of the family does not share our view). If she wanted to buy something, she worked hard and bought it. She works in an industry where a woman just doesn't end up being anyone high-up, but she has done extremely well. If a woman does well, what's to say that she can't buy what ever she wishes? F-car or not?

I think, based on his reaction to my "paying for it" comment in the Off Topic thread, that tater-tot may have suffered the ultimate humiliation: some ho probably said "no"... Hence the subsequent attitude.

Well put, well put Nika.

I think that most girls aren't too interested in owning a hot sports car, mainly because of all that is involved. My mom always loved the look of F-s but when she found out that it didn't come in automatic she quickly lost interest. Add a couple points like, stiff shocks, manual heating and cooling, AND of course the difficulty of getting in and out and she was like No way. Most if not all girls like the look of sports cars but very few can deal with the mechanical issues that come with them. I think they are smarter than us because they choose to spend their time on more productive things like.... shopping and spending our money (just kidding). I'm sure there are guys out there that get F-s because of how it attracts the opposite sex... and maybe that's why some men are willing to deal with all of the F- issues that women are less willing to deal with. Women don't need a F- to attract men, HOWEVER, a F- can do a lot to a man's sex appeal. Anyone like to challenge this statment?

Hey - we all know about the things we care about or important to us......whether if we are men or women. Yes - most women don't give a hoot about exotic cars just like most men don't care about gourmet cooking - but for both there are exceptions.

I love cars - sorry if that makes me a freak of nature. I love playing and working on cars. Can I torque wheels - yes - can I jet carbs - no.......I sometimes have to double check tire pressures because my memory is not what it used to be.

Who cares if I know the bore and stroke.....all I know is that Mister BUmblebee is the most beautiful car I've ever owned and I love him dearly. Even with his electrical issues he's been VERY good to me and inthe long run has saved me the money I would of needed in Prozac.

Is owning the Ferrari an accomplishment?.....yes but I am more proud of the fact my home is mine...paid for and mortgage free - and worth a good chuck of change - thanks to hard work and good investments.

Arlie, you are probably right. but there are a few who do: Nika is one, my wife is another, and there are a couple of others I have met over the years.

As for Mikey Tater-Tot, he & I are having a lovely discussion over in Off Topic, under "Hot Chicks".

As for Tater-Tot's question: I know one. She grew up poor, worked since she was 18 in a totally man's field, became successful, and bought a 355 Spider while single with her earnings. Subsequently, she met a guy & got married, and still is. And still has the car. No ex husband. No boyfriend. No rich daddy.

End of thread.

Horsefly,
You are changing the parameters of your question; you didn't ask about averages, you asked how many and then said unless they could answer some basic questions they were posers; Well guess what? Nika answered the question, done.

Who the hell cares about "average women" anyway?

Nika, YOU may know all the facts, but the average woman does not. For example, the time that I saw a lady getting out of a white 308GTS at a shopping center. Not completely sure of the model number myself, I asked her if that was a 308 Ferrari. She replied, "I guess it is. It belongs to my husband."
But of course I'm sure she knew all about the internal engine specs.

Here's a twist in the debate. How many women (single or otherwise) who own a Ferrari could tell you whether it had a V8 or V12 engine, front or rear engine, transverse or longitudinal mount engine? Alot of wealthy women may indeed drive a Ferrari, but I would consider them posers or merely Ferrari possessors unless they could answer the most basic questions concerning their cars. And I also remember seeing Goldie Hawn's Mondial for sale on E-Bay a few months ago.

Is it just me, or is the Ferrari crowd a tad more sexist than average? I don't like to see that.

Know any single Ferrari women? I don't think they would be single for long. "I just sleep with her for the Ferrari."

Pat was a great member of the Florida Region of the FCA. She was one of the first women I drove with on the track and was the longtime treasure of the club. We have had at least two other women in the FCA FL Region to purchase their own cars. Currently they reside in other parts of the country.

Yes great Ladies, dated both of them...they could drive like crazy, and I mean that in a good way.

I didn't ask them where they got their money...not a question one asks in polite society!

Is there a point to the money question? If a woman got some of your money learn from your mistakes, move on, and pick a better one next time, or become better so you attract better women.

I have not met Goldie Hawn, but her Mondial T was on Ebay a while back. Although she lives with Kurt Russell, they are not married and I'm pretty sure she could afford to buy the car with her own money. The list of female Ferrari owners is probably short, but why would you buy something for yourself that you could get someone else to buy for you? God bless hot chicks and the men who support them!

Mariah Carey- millionaire

Tyra Banks- millionaire

And the list could go on.

No I've never met them in person, but then I've only MET two folks who own Ferraris in person. But I'm smart enough to know more exist.

Racerchick Nika would fill the bill on that requirement. Her 308 QV is her own, literally.

www.racerchicks.com

I'm sure there are others, but it probably is a short list. Perhaps DJGecko?

What is the point of the question though?
How many guys do you know who own a 5 carat diamond solataire ring that they paid for themselves?

Note: Not his boyfriend's money.
Not his Daddy's money.
Not his ex-wife's money.
