Brian, let people know what city/state you live in. Maybe you can be refered to a service person in your area that you can become familiar with. You don't have to rely on a F Dealership.

I've often wanted a Ferrari but everytime I get serious about it the servicing scares me away. (I live 1,000 miles from anywhere)

I've owned Mercedes, Alfa's and Porsches but none of them have required the same servicing as I've seen stated in the "for sale" ads on Ferrari's.

Many of the cars for sale have had major mechanical service performed on what I would think are realtively low milage cars. Clutches, valves, rebuilds, etc on 30K vehicles...is this normal?

Also, is it my imagination or is it the later cars (V8's and TR's) that require this much servicing? I recall once reading that the early V12's were known for longevity and endurance. Are they also subject to the same service frequency?

Brian
