Lower Wacker is always a good ride; not much to look at but the sounds are great.

Chicago has the Lake Shore Drive: From the Science & Industry museum in the South all the way up to end of it and then turning into the scenic drive to Evanston and the Bahai temple. Beautiful coast line on one side and terrific architecture on the other.

In the Bartlett area are some nice wooded curvey roads, Rt 25 from S. Elgin to St. Charles is pretty good, right before you get into St. Charles on 25 head east on Army Trail Rd into Wayne

sounds great, guys... on saturday, we'll probably be free in the afternoon (between the morning ceremony and evening reception)... and on sunday, probably late morning/early afternoon... Are there any areas that you guys like to go driving? (No mtns, I know... but other scenic spots?) I won't have my F-car (probably just a Hertz special "F" car...haha... ), but would still like to get your recommendations on local spots.

F-1 Simulator? Wow, great! BBQ/Pool Party sounds fun, too! Looking forward to it!

Here's my email: [email protected]

Please send me your contact information offline and let's make this happen. Thanks, guys!

Byron, Bob,

sounds like we can do two different 'events'. One in Aurora combined with the wedding in Bartlett and one while staying downtown. Noel, Jack and I all live near the downtown area, so we could do something e.g. at my place as well. You'll have to try my F1 sim for starters.

Bob, Andreas.... I've never been to Chicago before - I'll be attending a wedding on saturday in Bartlett, but will probably be staying in the downtown area from the thurs before to maybe mon/tues.

A BBQ sounds great! I will be with one other person, so if you guys can "cook something up" for the weekend, that would be spectacular!

Looking forward to the trip!

Byron,
yes, I'd like to meet you too. Especially since I might reciprocate, going to Orange County at least once a year.

Anyway, you picked a slow weekend. So maybe Bob and I and the rest of the gang have to cook something up. Literally, we could BBQ at my place if you like. Officially there is no event. One weekend earlier is a FCA meet, one weekend later is Oshkosh in WI and Driving101 in Chicago (Joliet).

Nice! Looks like the movie playing at the theater is VERY fitting. (And in case anyone cares, it's really good especially with Charlize Theron.)

Wow, great pictures, David.

Btw, I'm heading out to the Chicago area for the weekend of 7/26... anything going on out there?

Any F-Chatters in the Chicago area want to meet up to show a So Cal F-Chatter "how it's done" in the midwest? ;)

For everyone who doesn't check the Chicago section here are a few pics of the cars that showed up on Oak Street yesterday. More pictures in the Chicago section. Nice turn out with a good number of older V-12 machines.Upload
