Thanks for all advises. I am taking everyone of them seriously. I decided not to think about the car till Saturday. Then Tuesday comes, I will make my next move. This is the first encounter with moving 348 for me. BTW, is there 328 Spider? Wouldn't this be nice!
Frank must be V-12er. I think I will buy V-12 as 2nd or 3rd Ferrari. I don't know whether I can drive that much power on streets w/out getting into a trouble.

BobD, thanks for that. I have not looked at prices since I got mine. Frank, at it again I see. At least I agree with the Spider part.

Yoshi, have you driven the 328 yet? If possible, try to do so in quick succession with others you are considering. A dealer may have all the cars you are considering.
If I had not already committed to the 328, I would have taken a 348 Spider. Love the convertible, the rarity and the look!

Unfortunately 348 Spiders are MUCH more expensive in Canada that in the States. Then again, the dealer called to let me know he's found 1 and may work a deal on that.

Definitely check out a TR or similar 12 cyl. My next car for the collection. Good luck.

If you want a drop-top I would go with the 348 Spider. If you want a coupe, I would get a TR as it is in the same price range as the cars you listed and has a 12 cylinder like God and Enzo intended. The TR is the most bang for the buck you can get in a Ferrari at this time.

Charles, 348's are selling for less than the prices you quoted below. Early 348's are selling for less than late model 328's. No question they're cheaper to buy. Probably the only later model Ferrari's (going back to the 308) where this is the case.

The 348 is definately the way to go. It is like a go cart for the street. Performance is fantastic, and it is a great daily driver. Horror stories about them are not true. Prices make them a real value right now. I like the 328 as well, almost bought one but I am glad I got the 348 instead. You should be able to find a really nice one for about $55K from a private seller or about $70K from a dealer. In fact I know where you can get a pristine 348ss with 30K miles on it for $67K. Ferrari of Atlanta has one in there showroom that is in perfect condition. SS is the series speacial 348 with alot of really nice upgrades and they were made in limited numbers unlike the other 348's. I would bet the SS will dust the 328 in performance and in my opinion is much better looking. No offense to any of the 328 guys, I like the 328 too.

T Cabs and 328's are very different animals.

I'd go with the "Ferrari Convertible" any day if you live where top down driving is feasible.

The 3.4 engines have proven themselves strong and reliable. Roomy interiors, great AC's, etc.

Thanks for info 89TCab,
Mondial could be practical Ferrari to drive. I have 4 kids, but intend to drive Ferrari solo or with my wife or with my friends.
456 seems to solve all my practical matters, but it don't look like Ferrari to my eyes.
Dave & Dave 328GTB, 328 is my first choice, still. I just have to wait for my seller to be back in a town.
DJmonk, open top is fun, although there are some problems comes with it. Spider/Targa is not must for me though.
Adrian, I check for rental, and 355 Spider cost $1000 a day! 360 for $1400 a day! 328, too old & not available, was what I got. I don't have a gut to ask Bob D. to rent the car for me. (hahaha)
Byron, I am test drving 348 Spider this weekend!
I just had restless night & took the Vette out for drive. I wish it was 328.....

Weekend or daily driver? Family or solo? All are great first cars but the Mondial T is a totally different car IMHO. For me, a semi-retired guy with two small kids, it is a perfect daily driver with room for kids, golfclubs and the occasional trip to Costco. (Any two of the three above...with the option to take the scenic route home.)

Avoid the Valeo, aside from being a bit strange to drive (which I admit is probably more because I only drove it for a short while) it will more than likely be Ferrari electrical reliable which as a first time buyer, you should be warned is not great.

Mondial looks ordinary, but still looks Ferrari. After reading D. Bachelor's book, I was more interested, especially on Valeo. Well I guess Valeo wasn't used for later Ferraris for the reason. I will stay away from Valeo. Mondial Spider looks cute car for daily drive, like Mini Cooper.
My first choice is still 328, but I am getting tired of waiting!!!!!!! Why the owner can't get back to me right away!!!!!!! I looked at Bob D's 328GTS, and it looked great.!!!!!!!!!!! FOD has 92 Mondial Spider sitting around for few months now, so they may lower to $55K from $62K.
I am looking forward to 348 test drive this weekend.
Sorry I am like a little kid when it comes down to buying my toy car. My wife even says I act like kids in ToysRus. This site actually relieve my frustration (although Adrian getting his 328 now makes me jealous)

Yoshi,
Get the 328 and you will have no regrets. The Mondial T's are trouble prone. You can buy a 348 spyder anytime. A 328 GTB is a rare opportunity to get a great car.

Yoshi, I know exactly how you feel about not being able to make a decision especially since the seller is not around. Since this is your first Ferrari, decide on which you would want to drive regularly, that you'd be really excited to own. For me, the Mondial was never a consideration as I did not care for the looks. The 328/348/355 were all under consideration. I finally decided that I would wait for the 355s to drop down to a more reasonable level, especially since they are still very expensive in Canada. I would have jumped on a 348/Spider had I seen a great example, but I finally ended up with a 328. Although I feel that the 328 is not as modern looking, I have seen cars with colour coded rear spoilers and lower valances, and they look awesome. Add larger wheels and lower profile tires and I can wait for my next car.
If you've decided on the 328, to get you through the wait, rent one for a few days if possible. It will take the edge off, and who knows, you might not even like it anymore!

Valeo would have terrible resale...stay away. I think the 328 is still the best choice for a first Ferrari. In the alternative, a well sorted 348, the latest year you can afford, could be a good choice as well.

348. It is a far better driving car than the Mondial - can't comment about 328's... but the 348 pulls stronger and with the prices falling, you should be able to find one in the 50's - 60's without a problem.

Yoshi
Interesting yes, but not in a good way. The Valeo was not too successful. Is an open top important to you? Maybe deciding that will help you narrow down these choices.

What do you think of these cars?
I am interested in all 3. My main choice of 328GTB is moving very slow in negotiation as the owner is not in the town till next week as I found yesterday. I am thinking Mondial with Valeo clutch may be interesting car to drive. Anyone who has driven this car, please comment.
BTW, people who replied to my another thread with great advises. Thank you very much!
