Pete,
"the car kinda sucks you in..."

I know the feeling...I've been sucked in many times owning "exotic" cars...

All seriousness, I do want a BB next. A fellow Chatter has a nice one, it seems. I just have to figure out when I can do it. Small issue of $$$ and lack of parking spots.

Dr Ken,

Confucius also said "To be confused is more confusing than being confused"

Wait, that's not it.

He said " May the fleas of a thousand horses infest your armpits"

or something like that!

The transport company says the "car" is almost there!

Pete,
Small world... we should try to get together sometime. I was just down at Los Arcos on Hwy 29 Monday evening in the 348.

I would love to see your F-Cars.

See what you get for sending me the kit car? Confucious says "Don't do to others what you wouldn't do to yourself". Ok, it was the fortune cookie for lunch and only a joke.

Patience my friend. Good things (weather) come to those who wait.

adrian,

i have an 83 512bbi w/ approx 8500 miles.

it suffered a split as main shaft and while apart, it seemed best to do a major, a clutch, water pump, and the list goes on...

i have owned this car for several years and having owned many other ferraris, masers, and porsches, this is my favorite car.

it is to me , the last of the factory hot rods. the car just kinda sucks you in aqnd makes you feel as if you are putting on your armour each time you strap in. my car is full euro spec and has headers and a sport exhaust. sounds very tough!! boxer will be a keeper for you.

my collection will be a 512, a 246, and a daytona...then i will be done!

Willis, you got THAT right. As soon as I can get out of the office, I'm THERE! Pesky customers keep coming in, wanting to buy something. Don't they know
"I'm on a mission from God?" Blues Brothers

Peter, what's wrong with the car? I am thinking of a BB next. What year is yours. How's it been up to now?

adriane,

i understand your pain. i have a 512bbi (i think i still do...) that has been in the shop for 6 months. the only fun part of the separation is calling the weekly only to hear that it should be done in "2 weeks". just funny to hear or predict what the new excuse for delay will be.

my car has never been in the rain or even washed...it just never gets dirty and is always covered. if i ever get my car back, i may got out in the first rain we get!! well...maybe not the rain, but i am going to put some miles on it.

My Dino 246 is in the shop for tuneup. Turns out it needs cylinder gasket, and probably a bunch of other internal work once the engine is out.

Funny how I remember all the folks I spoke to about the oil leak...
" ALL FERRARIS LEAK
ALL FIATS LEAK
All Italian AND French cars leak
Just buy stock in oil companies
Don't worry, so now you don't need to re-tar your driveway
It's very common"

HA!!!

The mechanic shampooed the engine so that we could see where the leaks were coming from. Ten minutes after he started the engine, I thought that I was Jethro and had struck oil (as in the Beverly Hillbillies). In addition, Cylinder 1 looks like it probably needs rings and valve/guide. I had originally planned to redo the engine in Oct when I was done driving during the summer, but now, I am not sure. Will find out if it is safe to drive until then.
What do you guys think? OK to drive? Not interested in track, just highway and general tootling around town.

So, here I sit, feeling sorry for myself, cursing the 328 salesman for not letting me take the car in the rain (only slightly joking), distracted from work because so far, the weather has been pitiful and no Summer in sight.

POOR ADRIAN (being sarcastic here)
