Jim.....

I inferred from your posts that you only spoke to Robert LeBeau at FOQ.

Have you tried Michael Ney....the general manager of FOQ ? I know him personally from my days as a Porsche general manager when he ran Porsche for all of Canada.

He's a great guy IMHO from past experience and if he knew that your were feeling like this maybe the situation would be different after he got involved.

Having said that.......if you bought the car thru a broker, who bought the car from FOQ (and I'd like to know who it is if it's a Canadian guy....because I may know him).........I as a dealer would not be responsible for the transaction beyond that which involved the broker.

Hey Ian,
Since, April 29th I have talked, emailed, faxed detailed information to FOQ to try and resolve a case of frxxd(I'm not saying the word) they knowingly implemented. I have kept my lawyer out of this to see if I could regain compensation for the way this transaction was handled. So far this fantastic car has cost around $6K to get it into good shape. Ian you must be pretty immature to attack me personally w/o knowing what the hell you're talking about. If you want the full details I can certainly get them to you. My intention in posting my original thread was to give a heads up to other people (i.e. like you), not to say bad things about them, since I have limited knowledge. If you read my original thread the only negative thing I said was "Very unprofessional organization", which from my experience they are. In addition I have heard from a couple other F users about FOQ. In addition my second posting on (5-2003) did not say anything bad either. My advice to you is before you go off and give anyone a lecture you might call and talk to the person, like me. Fortunately, after FOQ saw my comments on this chat site a Mr. Paul Darling called me (he's the service manager) and seems to be a nice guy. He and I are working on resolving my issues. I have confidence Paul will come to a solution we can both live with. In the event we do I will repost and be very explicit about my comments so you don't get your feelings hurt. I hope you continue to have good experiences with FOQ. Have fun with your car.

To all who don't have first hand knowledge of FoQ. Unless you know for sure exactly what happened you should probably keep your comments to yourself. As I stated, my service and experience with FoQ have been first rate. I have been to their shop at least 12 times in the last 3 years and have never been treated badly. I don't know what happened to Mr Hilton as I wasn't there, I can only state for a fact that I was treated very well on all my dealings with FoQ.

Why the hell should there be two sides to this?
Broker or no broker, who is the customer?............And who is selling the product?..........Just amazes the hell out of me some of the arrogance coming from these establishments or defenders of these establishments! Ever heard of the "customer is always right"? Thats how you do business in a bad or good economy. Those are the businesses that survive.......Or has the fake economy of the last decade distorted all of that? Get with it people!!

To all the Jim Hilton's out there:
I have nothing but very good things to say about FoQ. FoQ is a very honourable establishment, their service is spectacular and their sales team is always very welcoming. Jim, I suggest you be a man, sit down and have a talk with FoQ instead of posting comments like these. How old are you?
And to all the rest:
You shouldn't judge before hearing both sides to a story. I understand there was a BROKER involved with Mr Hilton. Jim, I suggest YOU keep an eye on your broker!!!

To all folks on this topic regarding Ferrari of Ontario!! Stay the hell away from that dealer. I have seen the work they have performed on numerous cars and it was like a backyard know nothing did the job!! Your better off taking the car to a hyundai dealer then that place. Next time any of you talk to them on the phone, ask them about the 288GTO that caught fire because of a loose fuel line!! I'll bet they hang the phone up on you!!

I can only speak to the service I have received and it has always been very good. In fact they have bent over backwards to support me and my 308. In fact I was just there on Monday as I was in Montreal and they took the car at very late notice and fixed her up nicely (new pads oil change and a few other little things). I have had no dealing with the sales aspect but I much prefer dealing with their service VS Maranello's in Toronto.

That's scary.
I don't blame you for complaining.

With people like that, I'd worry if the 30K was even really done.

TR Heaven and the group,
I'm not one to bad mouth people just to do it, I own a company myself and always try to work with people and be up front about issues. However, in this case Mr. Lebeau and Knight were not up front and would not entertain some mediation on this car. Why I cannot get a list of the labor that was done on the 30K escapes me. Such dealings really do not give much confidence in quality of this organization. I have written to FNA, the Montreal auto protection agency, Ferrari Club of America and dealers licensing bureau. As of this email I'm dropping the issue, since I've wasted too much time on this and will move to more positive endeavors like driving my car.
Good driving,
Jim Hilton

Mediation, while may be helpful, shouldn't be necessary especially when purchasing a car from a dealer with X, Y, and Z and what you get is no better then something that came off E-Bay with no PPI.

Good luck to you! I hope FNA will set things straight.

Maybe i should keep it in the States.....

Jim,
Before you beat them up too bad on this forum, I would recommend taking this up with FNA and see if they can mediate and assist with your concerns.

Regards,
Dave

Heads up on Ferrari of Quebec. I bought a 348ts from them that was supposed to have a Tubi exhaust system (have the invoice from FOQ showing this). I had the 30K done by FOQ as well. Car was delivered w/o the Tubi system? No on seemed to know how this happened, but after a few heated discussions I got the Tubi system, but had to pay to get it installed, no reimbursement. No records of what was done for the 30K check except for parts list. FOQ will not give me a labor list of items that were supposedly done. Very unprofessional organization. This is Ferrari right? These guys sell parts and other items on the web look out.
Good Luck with your F cars and have fun, but I'd keep an eye on these guys if you do business with them.
