Kendall - I was just joking.

I'm probably to laid back for my own good and waaaaaaaaaaaaay too car crazy.

Arlie - you sound like you've been burned and I'm sorry. You are not the first person - I can only say that not all women (and men) are alike.

I'm 26 and single and nothing beats having a Ferrari to pick up tourists in Waikiki. I don't want a relationship, just some good times. I don't care if the woman is a gold digger, because I'm only going to spend a week or two with her.

Arlie, I can relate to your sentiments, BELIEVE me I can. What a sucker I've been.
I have also gone the other route with good time 'whatshername' numerous times in the past.
I am to the point in my life now that when a lady coworker walked up to me and told me I needed to get laid I answered, 'It's not worth the 'friggin' hassle!'.(she was good looking too).
I should have asked her if she would help me with my problem but I thought better of it because I DIDN'T want to help her many problems she had. (Danger! Danger! Will Robinson!).
My current girl is in my garage, shes yellow and ALWAYS appreciates the things I do for her.

Nika is right in all that she said when it comes to what REALLY counts. If the other person can't appreciate it then you are wasting your time.
If she/he is on the back of a Harley being treated like crap from a fat ass biker I wouldn't want her/him anyway. HAHAHA
Signed, No longer a beginner either.

Women will treat you the way you let them treat you, plain and simple. This also goes both ways. Given that both guys are equal why would a girl choose the poor guy? But if you bring cash to the party she better bring something herself to equal it out. My wife is the most non materialistic person I have ever met. She would rather spend time with our children then go out and just shop for the sport of it. Guess I have always been lucky with the girls I hung with.

But, you bet I always used cars ,toys ,sportbikes as a resource to catch a girls eye before I got married. For the record I met my wife placing a service call. She has a great phone voice and I when I met her was relieved to find a trophy body, got lucky there.Remember winners go home and f_ck the prom queen . Losers read about it in Penthouse Forum.

NICE GUYS FINISH LAST! No truer words have ever been spoken. Show me the guy picking flowers to take to his dream girl's house, and I'll show you a guy who's sitting at home alone on Saturday night while the girl of his dreams is riding on the back of a Harley doing do-nuts through some little old ladie's flower garden. Let me say it again:
NICE GUYS FINISH LAST!
If you've got the Ferrari, or Porsche, or Corvette or whatever, better use it to your advantage or the other guy will. Remember the old saying, "All's fair in love and war." And there's no such thing as a "nice" war. To the victor goes the spoils! You might end up spending the weekend with a shallow, gold digging floozy who is only interested in you because of your car, but guess what? You've got her, and the "nice guy" doesn't!

"You can drive a Bentley wearing a $2000 suit and still look like a pimp.. " ... back in my Cop days in the Bay Area I saw LOTS of guys wearing $2k suits driving Bentleys and the did look JUST LIKE PIMPS - especially on MacArthurs Blvd....

In 2-3 years ownership I have only met 2-3 women who even knew what a Ferrari was ...

My first date with my wife of 9 years was at a FCA Valentines Dinner at then FAF. I picked her up in the 328GTS I had at the time. We were married a little over one year later. She has participated in all kinds of Ferrari events with me since including F1 trips and driving schools.

Tony,

find a lady like Nika. Even if she's not a cargirl (Nika is) she'll appreciate your passion towards F-cars no matter what. She's got a solid head on her shoulders. They're hard to find sometimes but are well worth it!

Geez, if I ever used the word "puttng up with" and "relationship" in the same sentence with any of the dates I had, I'd be in for a long lecture or worse yet, no encore when it comes to another date... lol

Hey Nika, I'd behappy to replace your wipers, just so long as it's the wiper blade, and not those wiper inserts.. I can never get them inserts installed properly in my car... -)

NOOOOOOOOOoooo

I mean effort - time.....

one of the nicest things a guy ever did for me was to change my wipers on my truck.....he thought of MY safety. While many girls would think that lame and want $$$ gifts - I saw a better value ...a truer kind.

I am a firm believer that you should treat someone the way you want to be treated...and that it should be appreciated.

It's not easy putting up with a car guy/girl.....make sure to reward the person that does.....even with a kind word

oh gawd - I am tooo sappy - that 2 Fast 2 Furious movie premier messed with my mind

I put it this way - anyone can pick up the phone and order a dozen red roses...but the man that takes the time to know your favorite flower..pick it from the garden...even if it's a dandelion - well - he rules........If a girl doesn't appreciate effort - toss her aside - she is not worth your time.

it works both ways.

Ferrari or no Ferrari.......

quotMy first three or four dates (with my sweetie of six+ years) was in a car I got from Rent-A-Dent. I pegged her for a real 'wallet whomper'! I went further than that! I told her I was renting my house and was paying off a big IRS lein. When I figured out money did not matter to her ( and still does not), she was a keeper. A month later when she saw my FCar, she was floored.ed...."""""

very smart.I'm gonna show up in one of my plumbing service trucks on my next 1st date. :-)

Depends where you live... I'm from NYC and women here seem much more materialistic than women I met living in southern VA or other smaller cities.. If you're 30 or younger and drive an F-car, I think most women will immediately assume, you're either spoiled nouveou riche and come from money, or literally spent all your savings on your car and still live at home with mom and dad...

I think quality women look for balance... You can have an average wage, drive a VW, yet still have good taste and appear respectable.. Conversely, money doesn't buy class or distinction either... You can drive a Bentley wearing a $2000 suit and still look like a pimp..

Women, my wife included, hate my Europa. Men and young boys love it; really draws a crowd at schools! My son calls it a tourist attraction. If I wasn't happily married I'd prbably buy a Ferrari as you guys seem to have the luxury of beating women off with a stick.

Agreed,

I never took the sports car on a first date because of fear of being stereotyped. Didn't want to be thought of a Leisure Suit Larry.

When I was last single, I was driving Corvettes. But on first date, I'd show up in a Chev Baretta, or some such. Just in case.

When I meet woman I never tell them I own
2 Ferrari's.Some guy's use this to pickup
woman not me.The reason I do not tell them
is I am not interested in goldigger's.I want
a woman to like me for who I am,not because
of what I drive.Single guy's what is your
experience with this situation?
