There is a factory service bulletin on how to "re-calibrate" these switches used in 328's and 412's. It is bulletin 80-36 dated 2/13/89. I can fax it to you if you provide a number. The vent direction LED switch on the drivers side of my 86 328 is not working. I can't get any 'blips' to appear and I don't hear the vent director moving from under the dash.. I checked the archives, and took out the switch and sprayed some contact cleaner on it. No luck. My other controls all work fine - just the one LED is not functioning and the fan vent does not adjust. I'm not crazy about spending $850 to replace the switch; could it be something else - possibly the motor that redirects the vents? I do hear a faint click from under the left side of the dash when I press down the rocker switch... |
