348's or 355's have the same type of service requirements, as far as dropping the engine for the 30k service. The 355 is the same body style as the 348 except for the door side panels. Engine and drive train differences as you probably will come to know. All in all, the 348 can be had for a lot less than a 355 and that might be the main factor in what to buy. I started with a 348 and have moved "up" since. I loved my 348, just wish I could have kept both cars.

Hi

Many are faced with the same problem but my advice is a 328, if this is your price range. Its not as fast as 348 and definately a lot slower than the 355, but it is reliable, no electronics, its handling is more predictable than the 348 for a new owner.Get hold of a copy of FORZA No 15, Feb 1999. If you cannot then send Fax No. and I will forward the article.

I bought a 328 my first ferrari 3 years ago, and I wouldn't update, I might but a 355 Spyder but that will be an addition.

Hope this helps.

It might help to know what your price range is. That makes a big difference.

I need the help of experienced Ferrari owners. I am looking to buy my first Ferrari and I am trying to decide which model to purchase. I am looking for a model which has a good record for reliablity. I do not want to use the car on a daily basis but do want to drive it every weekend if weather permits. Thanks for your input, it is greatly valued and appreciated.
