I say get the 456. Especially if you can find one in the $70k's. |

Jordan that's true. But the 456 is pretty sporty. And I always like the idea of being able to take a kid along for a ride. The 996 has back seats that are barely useful. I don't know if the 456 is any better. |

Love the 355 and Dino, but it sounds like the 456 fits your needs better than any of the others (and it sounds like you already know that too). You cant go wrong with the 456, its fast, modern, and has 4 seats...not to mention its just gorgeous. However, since you already have a nice SUV, you may not really need the 4 seats so you could also go with something sporty! |

Scott another cosideration... the advantage of the 308 model, is its "parts availablity". I beleive that Ferrari built more 308s than any other model. regards axel

I actually found some cups that are pretty much spillproof, as I have the keep the Cayenne pretty! The nice thing about being able to take the 456 out with family in tow is we could actually use it for weekend trips. It would definitely get used more with 4 seats. The Cayenne Turbo is a blast. It's not a true sports car but it sure can take the curvies at some serious speeds and the 450hp engine ca make those 5800 lbs move. It's a lot of fun and so far a great vehicle! |

Scott, I guess I should add, from experience(!), that you're going to have to search your soul to decide whether you want to let a small child in your Ferrari. Those sippy cups aren't spill proof. OT - How do you like your Cayenne Turbo? That strikes me as a pretty good marriage of practical and fun .... |

"Love the 4 seats (we have an 20 mo old)." For whatever it's worth, this observation struck a chord with me. Putting aside all other considerations for a minute - my wife and I love 2 seaters, but when our daughter goes with us, as she often does, the Ferrari stays home. Perhaps intended use helps make this decision - if you're really going to use the car regularly and in settings requiring practicality, the back "seat" can be incredibly handy for easy access storage, and is of course essential for that third passenger. Having just 2 seats will necessarily limit your use of the car - which may be no big deal. Sometimes I wish we had a 456, for all the reasons you state. Just a thought. |

Scott I think the key is to test drive. By driving these cars you'll find the answer. They are different but it's a very personal thing. Another important thing is: "How are you going to use this car?" Will it be a Sunday driver, a daily driver, or a bit of both? Rain or shine? Snow? Where will you be parking it. Will you use it in traffic, very hot days needing AC? In short never forget this is a car. If you pick one that will do what you want to do with it, you'll be happy. If you pick one because you "think" it will you may be disapointed. Falling in love before a real test drive is a big mistake. All of these cars will be different than you expect. |

Modern cars (355 and 456GT) are going to be much more trouble-free, but older 308/328 will be fun to tinker with like nothing else! Depends on your preference. I agree the 456GT is one hell of a car, and one AWESOME Ferrari, and the price I too find one of the best F-car deals EVER. Best! Ben. |

Paul you have fewer posts than me here. I've been doing research and doing searches for well over a year. I am leaning to the 456, just looking for opinions. Your post helped a lot. Thank you! |

i don't know what to get a 914,924, 928,944,993,996,or GT3? Advice is to do some homework to help narrow your search.

Very different cars and a price range probably in the 40s to 100k... here are my thoughts. I have a '00 porsche 996 cab which is great fun for top down driving, so I think I'd prefer a berlinetta for my Ferrari. Budget I'd prefer to keep it under $90k. Love the Dino 246, but not sure I'm ready for a "collector" car yet. I think I'd like more performance out of my first Ferrari. 348 (can lump 308qv and 328s in here too) I like and seem like a good value. Esp some of the nice early 90s 348 spiders. Early to Mid 90s 355 seem to be readily available and prices are pretty reasonable. Nice spiders too. Right now I'm falling for the 456gt, probably a 95 or 96. Love the V12. Love the 436 horses. Love the 4 seats (we have an 20 mo old). Seems like a great value as fast as they have fallen well into the low 70s now. That for a V12 modern Ferrari with 430+hp?? Seems too good to be true. And I do like the suble styling of the 456. Any advice? (Looking to buy in next 6-12 months probably) |
