My first Ferrari had to be red because I wanted, what was known to be said in my social circles, "the true Ferrari experience." After having that experience, I opened myself to other Ferrari colors...well, earlier this year, 2003, I purchased my second Ferrari, and it's red. I just love red Ferraris.

Like Jim, the car found me. I always knew that I wanted a 328. My favorite colors were Black or Red. That was before this Azzurro Blue/Crema car came along at the right time and price. I can honestly say that I am not at all disappointed with what I got. I think that the color turns more heads than the car!

I didn't pick my color, it picked me. I found the car I wanted at the price I wanted. The color to me was secondary, as long as it wasn't Prugna.

I didn't...my wife did. I originally wanted a black one, but this grey car was stunning so I bought it instead.

Chiaro Blue is a fantastic color, my favorite on a Ferrari. I bought my 308 because it was that color. I love the Daytona in red.... but a Chiaro blue one would look wonderful as well.

I have had a black/black 328GTS, blue/tan 400GT, rosso/tan TR, rosso barchetta/black 330GTC, silver/black 348 Spider and now a rosso/tan w/brown inserts BB512i. My next Ferrari will be either blue or yellow.

As you drive down the street, take notice what colors gets your attention, and in which order. For me it is:

Red
Yellow
Black
White
Green
Blue
Grey

I bought Chiaro Blue. I figure its got to be worth another 5-10 seconds of camouflage when in the presents of our friends at the State Patrol.

Ohio State Patrol used a stealthy gunmetal grey for several years, making them difficult to see.

Crawford- no, I had it painted to match the car. It's a late '88 and I've been told you could get a body-colored spoiler but not sure whether that's really the case or not. Didn't matter to me; I wanted it painted.

Mitch- came across a red/tobacco while I was searching for 328s. Great color combination!

They're ALL beautiful!!!

My first Ferrari just had to be Red/Tan. Then after going to my first Ferrari drivers education event, and seeing 85% of the cars there were red/tan; I changed my mind.

My next Ferrari will be Red/Tobacco.

I just wanted a Ferrari. Didn't matter the color...I was really looking for the engine/body style. Being a working-man enthusiast, I ended up with 308 GTB in Black/Tan. Great looking car! Better yet, great running and sounding car!

Wanted something a bit unique and understated. Black/Tan or Black was my 2nd choice, glad I found this one before a good black example came along. Is it true once you've had Black you never go back? just kiddin'

My first 328 HAD to be red, and it was.

My second car had to be something other than red since it would also be a 328. I had a black car for 6 years and it was hard to keep clean (NSX). I always liked yellow, and FINALLY found one (a rare color - right Marq!).

Marq - is the top spoiler on your 328 how they came from the factory in '88? My previous car was a euro and had the painted spoiler, but I thought that was just a euro thing?

Pozzi Blue/Tan 360--it was what the local dealer had, the price was right, and the engines sound the same, regardless of what color they are in. As I get ready to order a new car, I find certain colors compliment the lines on certain body styles better. For example, I wouldn't want a 355 in black because I don't think it shows the body sculpting as well as lighter colors. Others would say it looks best in black.

For used cars, I tend to focus more on the quality of the service records, the results of an inspection and I am more open to a broader range of colors.

Jeffrey,

The first Ferrari you buy in your life just has to be "Rosso Corsa" IMO.
The other ones can have different colours then! :-)

Fly Yellow/Giallo was the only color I would accept on the 328.
Dealer spent over a year-and-a-half locating one. Came across some excellent examples in other colors but I wouldn't compromise my preference. So very glad I waited. Ended up with a 7K mile example that had a recent belt/major service. Felt as you did, Jeffrey; well worth the wait.

348 black with tan because i didnt want the side or rear lite strakes to stand out and black camouflages it best. tan interior for contrast. black interior too dreary. red would have been nice but hard to find.

When I decided I wanted to get my Mondial the question of color came up. I knew that i did not want "resale" red but had no other thoughts on it. One night my wife reminded me of the first new Mondial we saw and that it was in a very pretty Drk. blue. After thinking back we decided that was the color. It took many months to find a sunroof coupe, with the 3.2 and in the blue but it was worth it. What about the rest of you? What made you pick your color and was it hard to find your car?
