You can also slip a piece of masking tape under the vents near a screw before you remove it. That helps. |

Very easy - 6 screws each vent. It's helpful if you have a flexible shaft screwdriver with a magnetic head, as they are a bit tough to get to and it's a drag if you drop one, but overall - no biggie! |

Stu - are they easy to pop off? Unscrew? |

Mike, I believe they were all finished in black anodised aluminum. The 328 introduced the body colored vents/grilles. Many QV owners have opted to paint theirs to match the body paint. There is no paint to strip off; just prep the aluminum for new paint. |

Sorry that picture's so big! Also, Mike, be sure to do a good sanding of the old paint first, then spray on the black. |

Peter's correct - they are made of aluminum and can be easily painted. Mine were originaly blue (body color) but as you, Mike, I prefer the accents, so I painted them black.

Mike, they can be removed and painted to whatever colour you prefer. I believe they are made out of aluminum. |

Mike...I will buy your black ones for my '77 Euro. Mine are original red and I would like to have both sets. |

the US 83-85 QV's came with black "louvers" behind the headlights on the hood... what are they made out of? I personally like the black highlights, and am considering purchasing a red QV, on which these are red (I am assuming they were painted). Can the paint be "stripped" off? Can I just replace the parts? Any idea of the cost of replacing them? thanks! btw... anyone looking for a good home for their exceptionally nice red/tan 84/85 US QV? |
