The Daytona has got to be the most awesome sounding car on this planet. I drove a couple before finally deciding on my 550, but boy, that was a difficult choice to make. I know I will definitely own a Daytona one day though.

Mitchel,
WHAT ABOUT THE SOUND??!!....Incredible isn't it!!! The Daytona is probably my favorite Ferrari. Excellent car for the price.

Mitchel,

Very nice of Terry to let you drive his new addi(c)tion. These cars are meant to be driven. I love the Daytona, because at any speed the car is engaging.

Andrew Menasce's dad also has a silver Daytona and Bill Hart is looking for a Daytona spider.

We need more Daytona's on Ferrarichat.com

When I first got my Daytona, I wouldn't take it anywhere! And if I did, I wouldn't walk more than 30 paces from where I parked it.

NOW ( 4 years later )... I treat it more like a real car. I drive it to the store, resturants, etc. I even goes through the drive-thru at Burger king. Driving it is addictive. And, it seems, the more often I drive it, the longer it stays in tune.

I STILL can't bring myself to give the keys to a vallet though...

Does anyone else with a Daytona constantly get asked what kind of "kit" it is ?

I love hearing things like this. It is great to know that these cars aren't just sitting in a garage collecting dust and riding on trailers. I have a lot of respect for the people that drive their cars. There are way to many to list as everyone here really does enjoy the driving aspect. Sure you would like to drive it more, but at least you are driving it. Terry didn't you say you take your Daytona to stores and stuff. That is great and I am amazed at how many F-car owners take their car to Home depot:-). Great pics.

It was a fun drive, thanks for the compliment! Your photos did turn out much better than mine. I really would love to drive the Daytona as an every day car. It would be great for the task. The insurance folks however would NOT be thrilled at the prospect! Besides, I guess in a bad thunderstorm I would really sweat possible hail!

Coachi has 2 Daytonas. He lives not far off in SC and hopefully we will get a Daytona drive together soon. I know of one other owner in Atlanta. The guys at FoA said they maintain a couple more that are driven frequently. Apparently most of the Daytonas out there languish as garage queens. Shame for such a great driving car.

Rijk has one. Another member has two I think. Forgot his name but he was willing to trade for a 550 Maranello.

Daytonas are definitely tops in my book too. Fantastic cars. Especially the plexi look!

Cheers

My friends, I was able to get a long, spirited ride in a 69 Daytona yesterday with my friend, and fellow Ferrarichatter Terry Springer. His Daytona is absolutely GORGEOUS! I now know what I want from life. I now want a Daytona! IN RED! The car is so amazing, yet docile when you want it to be, and brutally fast when you want it to be. It seemed easy to drive and very reliable. I have some photos on my site (www.F1freaks.com), as I did not want to post them all here and take up too much space. THANK YOU TERRY! You made my day! Ahhh the Daytona, all the right noises, comfortable and 174mph. I love the car!

Who else on this site has a Daytona?
