I think one of the reasons Zanardi crashed is because it had been such a long time since he had a win. He was leading the race when he pitted with 12 laps to go. Kenny Brack was coming up fast and I think Alex was maybe a bit too aggressive trying to get back up to speed to keep the lead.

another reason the teams dont want to come over is cus they essentially airlift the entire F1 circus. Thats a lot of planes & a lot of opportunities for nut cases. Not to mention its probably a good idea to stay away from large crowds & big cities for a while

Problem is the drivers may not have the same kind of focus they had before the WTC attack & at those speeds they Need focus. Could this b why Zanardi spun & got in his horrible accident ?

What a shame....

Hakkinen reports, "I'm petrified of racing there".
Colthard says he's, "nervous of the prospect of going over there.... going at the last possible moment".
Nicki Lauda (Jag Racing CEO) says, "Personally, I don't think we should go".

You'd think the race was in Iran.

I am very much undecided on this subject.
I can understand the call to cancel. After all there will be some thousand people that will have to come to this event, all staff and all are coming frm Europe. Several Cargo Planes will have to fly in with cars and traillers. That will be a burden in the air traffic system that is unnecessary.
ON the other hand if the US cancels all sporting events and stays in shock for the next few months, the bad guys won.

I know that there is talkes about other Nations canceling major events. The Munich Oktoberfest may very well be cancelled for the first time in its history.

It is walking a fine line. I think Michael feels it is not safe! But then he is driving at 225Mph...hmmm!

Go to the Ferrari web site and register for the world club. You can Email all the top people. We must not allow these tragedies to force us to hide. We are not cowards. I'll see you there.

Several F1 sites are reporting that the USGP might be cancelled and that drivers, including Michael Schumacher, don't want to run the race. I'd be bitterly disappointed if the race is cancelled. We've been through enough...let us enjoy the race we've waited a year for. What do you think? Does anyone have an e-mail address to let Ferrari's F1 team know how we feel?
