John,
As I mentioned earlier, the 99 cars did not have the pre-cats that 2000+ cars have. They're louder in both stock and Tubi'd form. Nobody knows yet why the very recent cats (delivered last couple of months) are louder. Rumor has it that these cars also feel more powerful... Ferrari works in mysterious ways !

Paul, mine is like yours, very loud, almost like a challenge car.

mine is a 2001. the car and the Tubi came from Germany and is louder than any other except a Challenge car. Personally, the street car sounds better.

Tino, Why are the '99 cars louder?
I just bought a '99 w/ tubi and it is quite loud!
Almost too loud.

There are 2 Tubis!
- Tubi (usual, standard)
- Tubi Racing (you can order in Europe, don`t know about the U.S. market).
It depense also (the sound), if you are still driving with your Katalysator or with the "Testpipes".

One more thing. The "360" and "Spider" embossings on the mufflers are just for looks. The units are identical.

Here is my piece on this. The "louder" Tubi has not been imported and sold here for quite sometime. All 360 Tubi's come out of the same jig and all the "cans" inners are identical. A few of the louder ones have been sold in this country. Tubi's do tend to "settle" with time and get a little louder. The difference in 360's is often due to the year of the car. The 99 cars were louder to start with and the 2000+ cars have added pre-cats (one per side) which have quietened the sound. The recent 03 cars (last month ors so) have been, in stock form, quite louder than 99-02 cars.

I was told by the dealer there are two versions also.
My buddy just got a silver spyder with tubi, and it is noticably quieter than mine. His was also stamped "spyder" on it, whereas mine is just "360". Maybe that has something to do with it?

I believe there are "loud" and "louder" versions of the Tubi... depends which one you got.

I've noticed that tubi's are not all the same on the 360. I bought a tubi for my spider, i've met other spiders that are identical in every way but their tubi is MUCH quieter. If anyone is in the market for a tubi be sure you know how much baffling is inside. i would say that my tubi is twice as loud as any other tubi i've come across(it was NOT special ordered that way). so this is just a friendly F.Y.I. to anyone that is looking for a tubi be sure that you know what you are buying(i think mine is too loud).
